The View at Skipjack is a gem! The food is DELICIOUS – The staff are not only super knowledgeable about the menu, but they’re also incredibly accommodating and make you feel right at home . Shoutout to bartender Krysten – top-notch service and And the view? Unbeatable! Best spot to take in the Sassafras River views.

P.S. Bonus points for the owners Val’s hilarious and clever Facebook posts . If you haven’t been, GO! You won’t regret it!

Worst experience ever. Great atmosphere. Drinks were good. The food was just bar food after waiting over 2 hours and 20 minutes. Had we been told it was over a 2 hour wait after being seated, we would have gone elsewhere. We were told 40 minutes when we sat down. The Tuna came out covered in pepper and was inedible. The owner came out to check on us after our food finally arrived with an excuse about the kitchen run by 1 person. She also offered no apology for food taking over 2 hours with no offer to compensate us for the wait. The waitress did say the owner graciously was willing to take off the tuna that couldn’t be eaten. How thoughtful. You want to survive, you have to do better. Unless you have 2.5 hours to kill, steer clear.

The owners and their family are amazingly nice people. Very accommodating and caring, outgoing and fun. The deck is gorgeous and so is the view. The food and drinks were delicious and the live music was an added bonus. We were out on the deck for a while and inside afterwards and had a great night. We will definitely be back.

Showed up just before 9 pm on a Thursday night and they were still happy to serve us with the dinner menu as opposed to the bar menu. Great food, atmosphere and super friendly staff. Owner shared some great stories and we had a nice time. We’ll be back!

We sat there for at least 45 minutes before we got a few apps. Then another 45 to 50 minutes for our entrees. Which came out mostly cold except for one. Then I had to deal with a bunch of stupid patrons that wanted to interject for the terrible experience and make it way worse than it already was. I’m pretty sure our waitresses name was Kennedy. She was lovely. But the manager/owner/mother said, when I went over to tell her my food was cold, that it was impossible because it just came to the window. And then I was told I was completely out of my mind even though I ate the food. Eventually she admitted it was awful. Terrible experience. Still tipped my server over 20%. So no one respond with stupid bullshit.

We have been meaning to try The View. (Not the TV show). And we finally were able to. It was a very good experience. Our server, Bianca, was delightful. Her service, her up spirit and pretty smile totally enhanced our experience.
The fare was very good. The menu extensive.
The order came out in good time.
We sat on the deck. The view, (not the TV show), was very nice.
A very good first impression. We’ll b back.

The Maryland crab soup was delicious. The smash burger was excellent. The crab sandwich was good but it was not lump crabmeat. We ate on the deck overlooking the river. Overhead shade is needed because the umbrellas don’t cover enough. The railing around the deck is right at eye level and blocks your view. Higher tables would give you a much better view of the river.

My family and friends have eaten here with us numerous times and it just keeps getting better. The staff are so friendly and the food is a nice elevated step above “bar fare”. Food and drinks are all reasonably priced and I am so happy to have such a nice local area to go to.
