We were greeted with «hey!» from somewhere in the cafe, and then the barista showed their head with a very annoyed look and tone. If I wasn’t so desperate for caffeine I would have walked out. Vanilla latte had no detectable vanilla either. Danish was soggy. $17 wasted. It’s a shame because it seems like it would be a hip little café to frequent. If I were the owner, I would probably do a little more spot checking on the staff. The vibe is less than friendly.
Cool funky vibe and great coffee. The barista recommended a turmeric latte of some sort and though I was quite hesitant I decided to try it and am super glad I did…super good. Also, the egg, tomato and pesto sandwich was super good too, the bread could have been a bit fluffier for my preference but it was still very good.
I went in after reading the rave reviews. I asked what they use for pour over and the barista didn’t know, then another told me they use their espresso blend. The pour over was very mediocre. I didn’t even finish it, which is rare. My fiancé got the brewed coffee which was alright. It was super warm inside, and pretty cramped.
Alright so I feel bad roasting a small local business but man my mocha was aggressively bad, made with powdered cocoa and the darkest bitterest sour over extracted espresso pulled out of a machine that looks like it’s been through the war and is regularly whipped. Coffee was spraying everywhere! There is another reviewer that mentions some questionable cleanliness and food safety practices. I watched my barista pour milk back into the jug after over pouring for my 12 oz drink. The whole place needs someone to invest some time, love and cash into it to bring it up standard. I’d probably go to a Starbucks before here and I really hate Starbuck s coffee.
this a great place-excellent coffee & really nice people. if you love starbucks, this place is probably not for you which makes me glad b/c i could do w/ a safe space rid of entitled jerks.
Hands down beat coffee shop conversation in years! Highly recommend the visit. Great coffee and and great service!
This little shop brings the “neighborhood coffee shop” ideal to life. It was originally a no-wifi shop with the intention of being a neighborhood social hub where the regulars would chat, get to know each other, etc. It does have wifi now, and they accept cards, but the original spirit remains intact. The food menu is simple and delicious, coffee drinks are dang tasty, and the company is stellar. Sit at the bar if you’d like to chat with Patrick, the Brooklyn NY made owner (and artist), or the staff. Not feeling chatty? No problem! There’s never any pressure to chat.

The waffles are fantastic, the atmosphere is stellar, and the people are the best part of all. I cannot speak highly enough of this cozy cafe!
Incredibly wonderful atmosphere, I had an egg sandwich and delicious coffee. Best coffee shop in Madison
Employee was super attentive and caring and the hot paninis we got to go were tasty. We just wish the countertops and employee’s hands were cleaner, hence the 4/5. We’re sympathetic because only one person was working and there was a bit of a rush an hour before closing, but we didn’t see the employee wash hands between orders, they weren’t wearing gloves, and the prep station hadn’t been wiped down well.
