My wife and I stopped in since we were in the area. This place is dripping with charm. They have rotating local artists hang their work on the wall for sale and had some prints of the originals. They have a lot of great food choices but I got the vegan Cuban because I don’t know if I have ever seen a vegan Cuban before. It was delicious, I want to come back and try their Reuben. We also got the cheese spread platter appetizer and that was great as well. 10/10 would recommend

Absolutely loved our visit! It was our first time and we felt genuinely welcomed by the owners. We enjoyed some great conversation in addition to amazing food.
The menu was varied with something for everyone. We both had a hard time choosing what to get! My omni husbo loved his Cuban! The herb spreadable cheese was delicious and we loved the fruits and nuts that came on the platter. We just had water but will try some teas next time we are in.
We loved the featured artists’ work and ended up purchasing a new piece.

My girlfriend and I went last weekend and it was very good! Julieann and Dennis are so thoughtful and remember my girlfriend from her farmer’s market visits. The atmosphere is cute with local art and videos of live music playing. We got spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer and it was yummy and made me nostalgic for the last time I had it before I was vegan. I got the pesto panini with lemon pepper chickun and my girlfriend got the new breaded pork tenderloin sandwich! The sandwiches were so delicious and we will definitely be back to get them again or to try something else because the menu has so many delicious options. Thank you Julieann and Dennis! You guys are so sweet and I’m grateful for a local vegan restaurant in Lafayette, Indiana!

I stumbled into The Vegan Cheese Lady Cafe and what a lovely discovery. As a gluten-free vegan traveling far from home, it can be tough to find something that feels both safe and satisfying.
I had the gluten-free Grilled Cheese 2.0 and it was excellent. Crispy, melty, flavorful, and clearly made with care.
If you’re plant-based and gluten-free this spot is worth seeking out.

So good! Don’t sleep on her downtown location! The menu is all vegan & incredible. The owner is SO SWEET. Her restaurant walls & windows are dedicated to local artists. The music she plays completes the vibe! You’ll feel right at home grabbing lunch/dinner here.

The vegan cheese lady and the man who works at the cafe with her were both sooo lovely to chat with. I ordered to-go and got the Ham n Cheese Crunchy Wrap (very delicious). The cafe has such a warm and inviting feel to it. I loved the vibe so much and can’t wait to visit again next time I’m in Lafayette!
I’m confident vegans and non-vegans alike would enjoy the food and atmosphere. They also had a great drink menu!

If you’re familiar with The Vegan Cheese Lady’s products from the farmers markets in the area, you will be overjoyed to visit her cafe! Unsurprisingly, the food is delicious and fresh, and the atmosphere is artistic and friendly. I thought the tea was extra special, they make a whole pot and bring the pot, teacups, and saucers to enjoy the experience. This cafe is a magical gem, a wonderful addition to our downtown options.

I had a great time at The Vegan Cheese Lady Cafe! My family was visiting me at college, and we wanted to go into downtown Lafayette to get some dinner. I am on a vegan diet, and I had seen this restaurant pop up a few times on Google when searching for vegan food near Purdue. I finally jumped on the opportunity to go try it, and I’m so glad we went. The owner and her husband made and served us some truly delicious food (I’d highly recommend the Ruben)! They were so kind and made the dining experience even better. I’ll definitely be back.

I first came in after I saw earlier in the day that they had a pesto panini. I came in asking about it then was told “No, the list is shortened because of my knee” by the lady worker but she’s gonna have to get up and make the food no matter what so it just didn’t add up. I didn’t say anything even though the pesto panini was a new item on their menu they had posted up on every table. Not sure why you would post it as a new item on the menu if you aren’t serving it but whatever. Anyways, I decided to get the crunchy wrap because I was hungry and I had walked to the place. As she makes me food the entire time both her and him are on a call on speaker with their friend. Eventually I get my food and I start eating it and it is cold in the middle. Unsure if the meat was done I asked them if they could warm it up or something so it’s not cold in the middle, also hoping the meat inside was fully cooked so I don’t get food poisoning or get sick etc. The lady then tells the guy the grab my plate and warm it up for me and says to me “sorry the ingredients were in the fridge”. Then after the man grabs my plate he puts it in the microwave…honestly should have left right then and there. The lady was on her phone the entire time. After my food is done heating up he brings it over to me with my wrap on a separate plate. The silverware and plates and just dish-ware all together looked like something anyone would just have in there home, the plates were all different not professional AT ALL. Then when it came to paying they only charged $10:30 and the drink was on the house because my food was cold in the middle?! The whole meal should’ve been on the house. Just very dissatisfied and disappointed in this place it was very unprofessional.
