We had the best breakfast/lunch. The wood grilled pizza is absolutely AMAZING! Never had it till today and I wish I could’ve gotten a picture but it is absolutely phenomenal. My daughter got the “Mama Bear Waffles” what a thing of beauty! They tasted amazing and my daughter absolutely loved it! She says “dad!! It tastes like an elephant ear, I’m in heaven”. What a great place with great food. Service was fast and right on it from the beginning.
Seriously though, you could taste a Smokey/ wood flavor in the pizza and the pizza sauce it self was just fantastic! Will definitely be ordered every time now!

I’ve been a handful of times. My favorite thing about The Backyard is the atmosphere. It’s chill & relaxed. You can always find a game to play or people to chat with. It’s even nice to sit back, sip your drink, and simply people watch (but not in a creepy way! LOL) The business concept is unique. Such a fun way to have dinner out every once in a while. I’d highly recommend a visit.

I would give them ten stars if I could. The food was top notch, the service was great, and the prices were fair. We didn’t get to check out the backyard, but the playroom inside was awesome for keeping the kids busy. I have to imagine the outdoor area is awesome for friends and families when the weather is a little nicer. I would highly recommend The Backyard and will definitely be back.

My wife and I had a late lunch here today, and it was our first visit. The atmosphere was ok, would be great if you had kids with you with all the yard games and whatnot.
The food was ok. I ordered the Sweet & Spicy “smash Burger” and, to me, it was not a smash burger. It was more like a pre-made patty. But the flavor was good and the potato side was very tasty, but I would recommend adding bacon.
My wife had the house salad, add chicken. Again, it was ok. The cucumber was mushy and the chicken was chopped extremely small giving the illusion of a lot of chicken when there wasn’t that much in reality. Both of our drinks were good, although my wife was disappointed in the lack of garnish. She was going off the pictures online where the drinks were more elaborately decorated.
The service was great, and friendly!
All in all, it was decent.
I would probably come back for apps and drinks.

First time here and what an amazing experience! From our waitress, Bella, who was sensational and exuded top notch service. We had the pickle pizza, brussel sprouts and the pbj burger. All very tasty and the Brussels were the best we’ve had within a 50 mile radius of your location. The atmosphere is very charming and family friendly. I kindly give this place a 5 star rating for not only Bella’s wonderful attitude, friendly smile and knowledge of your menu items but also for the rest of the staff as well. Great menu items, great service, keep it up.

We did my husbands 40th bday party here, and we had them decorate the table and have balloons ready. They did such a great job and the food was great and the kids loved playing in the room next door while us adults got to actually talk and enjoy ourselves. Service was exceptional, our waitress was super helpful and kind.

Our party of five had tacos, waffles with chicken and a chicken burger. I had the Rodeo Burger. The food was fantastic. The teenagers loved playing in the games area. Our server, Bella, was great. We will be sure to visit the Backyard of Kalamazoo the next time we visit from Canada.

Great food and atmosphere. Tons of games to keep a hockey team of 14 year old boys and their siblings busy! Live music was great!
Drinks were fantastic and food was delicious and served super quick (especially given the size of our party!) I wish we were staying in the area longer so we could go back again!
