We ordered chili dogs and the onions we’re slimy and we asked for more and those looked exactly like the other ones.
We won’t be eating here again. My wife’s milkshake seemed ok, that was a plus.

This my be just me just me, but nothing like the downtown Atlanta location. Food was good counter staff was a little customer service lacking. When I ordered a PC they guy looked at me funny the handed me a Mathis dairy bottle of chocolate milk. I am use to the small milk cartons of chocolate milk with the Varsirty logo on them. I looked and and asked about the cup of ice at least, he just said I can give you a cup of ice. Those two always have gone together all my life at a Varsity.

This place is my guilty pleasure! I used to go to the Varsity downtown when I was a kid after Braves games and remembered the long lines and yelling and just couldn’t wait to get some greasy food and go try to find a place to sit. Well now all of that is way up here in Dawsonville without the wait and plenty of seating! I basically was able to walk up within seconds of arriving and order the same things I always did and it still tastes the same as it did back in the 70’s and 80’s!!
My favorite is the Chili Burger and Chili Dog Combo with the Onion Rings. They are so greasy but so tasty! They have this cayenne pepper shakers at the tables you can sprinkle anything you want to add some heat to. They have plenty of outside seating as well to enjoy on a nice day. Every time I’m up this way I can’t help but stop by!!

Men’s restroom design is questionable, and portions are a bit small, but everything else is good.

Whatta ya have! A lil’ taste of downtown in the foothills of North Georgia. After multiple generations growing up going to the Varsity in downtown Atlanta (my parents went on dates there in 50’s), I’m probably a little biased. It’s an Atlanta legend and nice to have one way out here in the sticks. While everyone has their faves, for me it’s just a chili dog and onion rings. If you go for anything, go for the onion rings. Others love the chili burger, frosted orange, and peach or apple pie. Nothing fancy, just good ‘ol fast-diner food.

The Varsity is an Atlanta icon. I enjoy stopping by every once in awhile and grabbing a chili dog.
The service was fast and efficient, the staff was friendly. I enjoyed the chili dogs and onion rings. For desert I had a fried peach pie, also good.

I don’t even care about the waste of money. This place was a waste of my time. The atmosphere is crap. It’s slow and quiet and the only customers are old people. The food is not food. The hamburger is tiny and the meat is rubbery, flavorless, and I kept getting hard bits stuck in my teeth. definitely fake frozen meat. The onion rings are burnt, greasy and just have a nasty taste. Don’t even get me started on how incredibly tiny the chili dogs are. They also have some employee pacing back and forth making people uncomfortable. You could not pay me to return

The perfect place for a quick lunch! We tried the chili dogs, bacon cheeseburger, fries, and onion rings; everything was great. Staff was friendly and the dining room was very clean.

I had tried this location for the first time and was happy as there was zero wait time and chili tasted great like downtown location . Imagine eating at this legacy place without having to wait in queue forever ! You will be having me every time I pass down this road .
