This is my favorite place to dine in Lake County. The oysters, clams, and wings are simply amazing. They shuck oysters right in front of you and the staff has always been friendly.
I’m only rating service 2 stars because of last night’s debacle. Our server was a trainee named Candy. She was attentive and friendly, but she wasn’t moving fast enough for her trainer. I don’t recall her trainer’s name, but she was constantly berating her behind the oyster bar to the point of cruelty. We enjoyed our meal but it was uncomfortable listening to this woman get humiliated. The trainer was friendly towards my group, but constantly used profanity while a family with minor children sat behind us. This is likely a one off experience, so we will be back with hopes this issue has been resolved (we did not notify management).
The atmosphere is as casual as casual gets. This is a no frills establishment with a stern focus on mollusks and crustaceans. They also serve traditional bar fare, but you can get that anywhere around here.

Fresh seafood, great prices, and exceptional taste. The staff took orders and provided attentive service even though the food was slow. I understand how the front-of-house staff felt being pressured by customers due to the delay. they truly did their best.

Tonight’s dinner discovery outing was THE TROFF in Eustis … this is a recommend… we started with Oysters on the half shell and Fried oysters… … the raw were thick, fresh and creamy… opened at the “troff” for us. Eric had the fried, they were lightly battered and dusted, amazing flavor and texture… Fried Seafood platter was PERFECT! Fish was juicy and tender, the shrimp too with a slight pop whe. You bit into it, perfectly battered and dusted, crisp without a hard crunch… but the star were the fried clam strips!! Same batter fried, but they were juicy and tender no toughness at all. The hushpuppies were the best I have had in many years, super crispy but moist on the inside, not dry and crumbly… Eric ordered the RedBeans and Rice with Andouille Sausage and shrimp… flavor was deep, and the sausage and Shrimp were cooked perfectly. The sauce quality was great, prices reasonable, service was good… definitely check it out if you are willing to take a nice drive up!

Decided to stop by The Troff this week for dinner when a seafood craving hit. The food was excellent in my opinion. I ordered the seafood combo which came with fish, shrimp, and clam strips. The service was good, but a little slow, likely because there were only a few employees working up front that day. I would definitely come back when I have another seafood craving.

Servers are great. Funny, attentive and quick. The Oysters were huge and perfect! Chowder was great. Fries and Onion Rings too! Our friend had the Burger and said it was delicious as well. Can’t wait to go back and try more options.

The food was actually pretty decent, and the waitresses were genuinely nice—friendly in that easygoing, down-home way that makes you feel welcome right away. The place definitely had a bit of a redneck vibe… which, honestly, is exactly the kind of atmosphere I enjoy. It felt casual, unpretentious, and comfortable.
My friend keeps trying to get us to go to “redneck bingo,” and after spending time here, I’m thinking I really need to take him up on it one of these days—it seems like it would fit the vibe perfectly.
One unexpected twist: the bathrooms are coed, which was definitely different and took me by surprise.
Overall though, I’ll absolutely go back. There’s a lot on the menu that I still want to try, and it feels like one of those places that’s even better the second time around.

An unpretentious, small fish and oyster bar that has been around for many years. The food is good, with big portions. You can ask about Gluten free dishes, and they will accomodate. Informal and relaxed atmosphere. They have Bucket day on Saturdays. Fair prices.

We had a good time – lots of oysters. Beth was fantastic even though she was the only person working both the bar & as the waitress in the same part of the restaurant. The shuckers, Mike & Don, were quick & entertaining.
