The food is great. Lots of breakfast choices. Sandwiches too. The service was friendly and efficient. Several drink choices including alcoholic ones. Definitely an excellent place to be for breakfast or lunch. Closed by dinner time.

My wife and I truly enjoyed our full experience here. From the minute we were greeted at the door it was amazing. The atmosphere was nice and vibrant with amazing colors on the wall. Our server Cici (hope I spelled it right) lol she was incredible. She gave us some great menu recommendations, took her time since we were new, and continued to make sure that we were good. We met the owner Jamal, amazing guy, he sat down and spoke to us a few minutes, and he gave me a killer recommendation on the pork chop breakfast!! 10/10. My wife said it was the best shrimp and grits that she ever had! We will definitely be back and become regulars lol

My wife and I live in Houston and travel to Austin often for work, and we usually stay in Round Rock. We’ve been trying different breakfast spots, and this was our first time visiting. We went on a Tuesday morning, so it wasn’t busy at all, which made the experience even more disappointing.

The atmosphere feels open and the coffee cups are very nice, but the space also feels oddly empty in certain spots. What really stood out was the cleanliness. My wife works at a hospital, so she notices details like that right away. The floors were clearly sticky, like they hadn’t been mopped properly.

We waited about 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. Our server (she was very sweet) first came to get our drink order. We ordered coffee, so we ordered our main order. the coffee cups are served in a very nice mug i have to say. She came back about 10 minutes later to take our food order. By the time our meals arrived, the coffee was already cold.

The food was mediocre. The pancakes were dry, and they don’t seem to know what a medium egg is. I asked for Cholula, and the bottles they brought were basically empty, only one drop came out. We were really surprised that an omelet took about 30 minutes to cook, especially on a quiet Tuesday morning. Also, no bread comes with the eggs, you have to pay extra for toast, which was unexpected.

To make matters worse, my card was charged twice for two different amounts.

Overall, this place was a big disappointment. There are better breakfast spots just one mile from here that I would recommend instead, would not return

We had a wonderful experience at The Toasted Yolk Cafe. The food was outstanding – the shrimp & grits were amazing, the West Coast Arnold was perfectly done and the Churro donuts were “to die for”! The food came out quickly, the atmosphere was bright and cheery, and the prices felt just right for the quality. We’ll definitely be back!

Super friendly, but pricey. My husband and I ordered eggs benedict and eggs and sausage. Hollandaise sauce was split and not edible. The manager was very kind and had it remade immediately. Sausage was good and juicy, biscuit was on the dry side but ok with honey, which was brought on request without upcharge. Overall food was ok, but needs a little more flavor. Coffee was really good and would come again for a cup.
To sum up: Come for the great service, not the forgettable food, and you’ll pay more than you probably expected.

We were blown away by the service here!

What’s very impressive is that it started out bumpy and they totally turned it around by the end! What happened was one hostess said I could wait on the patio and a different hostess called our name out at the front door, so we didn’t hear it and 7 tables were called and we finally asked again about our table and we were seated right away after they found out what happened. This only happened because their yelp waitlist was down. I tried to join online on the drive there and it said there was no wait, but there was, it just didn’t know because the tech was not working that day. I think if there were a text that our table was ready, this wouldn’t have happened.

Another hiccup was my almond milk for my iced latte was charged as a “milk” and $3.50. I understand a +$1 for an alternative milk, but that was super high for almond milk. The waitress said that’s not right and offered to fix it right away! I took my toddler to wash his hands in the bathroom when we were waiting for this to get corrected, and my husband said he was approached by 3 different staff members/owner/managers who wanted to help! It was super busy so it makes sense they wanted us to leave asap lol, but he felt so taken care of and said it was just fantastic service.

We loved our bacon, of all things, bacon?! Haha!! My husband said it was maybe the best bacon he ever had and I have to agree. Perfectly done, not under or overdone. My toasted yolk was delicious. I will order over hard next time! I keep thinking I like runny eggs but I dont. The cheesy hash brown casserole was yummy, too. Toddler loved their pancakes, as expected!

Stopped in for the shrimp and grits today and holy cow are they good! Food was plenty hot and came out in a fair amount of time. I like the little touch of added bacon and light spice they add to their version!

Since they are new and it was a Tuesday I expected them to be a little slow and maybe light staffed but I observed the opposite! Restaurant was half full the whole time I was there! It was nice that the hostess and all staff were friendly. Hostess even opened the door each time for customers going in and out! Also met a few employees and the manager during this outing and all were very friendly & courteous! Definitely looking forward to trying other menu items.

Only bad thing is their mimosas are $11 vs the $4 at another breakfast spot in Hutto not far for the same size glass. However, their $5 Tuesday special drink deals were a pretty good alternative!

We tried The Toasted Yolk for breakfast and really enjoyed it! We had the biscuits and gravy and the Yolk Lovers breakfast plate, both were good and hit the spot. It’s a cute new place with a fun, welcoming vibe and a great option for breakfast. We’ll definitely be back to try more! ☀️
