This is a thing all Of us locals were worried that they were gonna change the wings when they took it over. They promised us they were not gonna change the wings. The first time we went there their same wings, slightly undercooked compared to what they used to be but nothing to complain about. I’ve been avoiding the place because I knew eventually they were gonna change them and unfortunately I just got some wings to go and there’s almost no sauce on them and I’m pretty sure the sausage is changed. I can’t tell because there’s not hardly any sauce on them, and I hate to leave reviews like this, but I have been eating those wings for almost 30 years now my favorite wings in the world never had a better wing in my life. I love that sauce actually all their Sauces were awesome. Now I can’t even tell what sauce I got cause there’s hardly anything on it and I’m hoping that this is a fluke, but they don’t understand how important that places to us locals. I will try it again cause besides the lack of sauce it was great. I’m not gonna lie crispy same size wing blah blah blah, but it has no flavor because there’s no freaking sauce on it. Usually, if you get wings, there’s a puddle of sauce in the bottom and I’m not gonna say that the old place that I mean everywhere gives you sauce on the bottom because it runs off the wing. So hopefully it’s just a new cook And they figure out how to Sauce a wing cause if I was sitting in there, I would’ve sent these back ASAP.

We ate here in October 2024 while on vacation and it was so good that we cant wait to go again in March when we get back to the island!
Don’t expect fine dining, align your expectations – this is good bar food! It is clean, fast, and friendly staff! My wife and I ate here twice that one week we were on the island and may eat there our first night upon our return the month after next!
We loved their chicken tenders tossed in buffalo sauce and the burger and fries are great too! Their ranch dressing is also great!
We highly recommend The Tuna and to those about to dine, we salute you!!

Service (Shelby) was attentive, prompt, and friendly – never let our drink go empty. 1/2lb cheese Burger was one of the best you can get in the area. Ruben and the BLT chicken salad wrap were also excellent.
Our daughter (6) didn’t like the kids fried shrimp, but I think it was her and not the food.
Definitely will add Tipsy to our lunch rotation.

My friend highly recommended this place so we went for lunch today. It was great. Cute place very clean and cozy. Hunter was our waiter. He was so nice and personable and helpful. The food was great and their prices are so so reasonable. Great selection of food. Cannot wait to go back.

They must have a lucky horseshoe with all the top shelf bourbons they have! I’ve been wanting to find Penelope Havana since its release with no luck. They had very reasonable prices and I had to try multiples! The Thursday special was club sammich or salad, so I got the club with onion rings. The bread was overly toasted and cut my mouth from being so crunchy but the taste and presentation were perfect! Definitely a great place to drop in at Oak Island for a quick bite and they had TVs all around with the hockey Stanley cup semi-finals on multiple screens.

We’ve been several times now when visiting the island. Tonight, we passed another island staple SJ, with the parking lot overflowing, but we’d already decided where we were going. I resigned myself to a wait, but when we arrived, there were available parking spots in the small lot, and lots of empty tables… I don’t understand why. This place is doing everything right! Service is on point, staff is super friendly and the food rivals any on the island. Don’t miss out on the tuna nachos, or the seafood basket. Skip the crowd and add this to your list of places to eat. I should keep it a secret, but I know how fickle off season can be on the island for restaurants, so please help us make sure this place becomes another staple on OKI!

Food great, but watch out for a to go charge. 10% of your bill. I tipped quite well, then saw that on my receipt the extra charge. Another thing is no phone to call in order.(REALLY).

My wife and I heard about Tipsy Tuna through other local friends and we decided to check it out one evening. We usually try to not go to Oak Island to eat during the summer, however this place is worth the trip.
For those of us who knew this as Chasers will be pleasantly surprised as you walk through the doors. It’s well lit, TV’s everywhere and the food is fantastic. I had a flounder and shrimp basket my wife had a club.
Tiffany one of the new owners was helping behind the bar. It very obvious her and her husband have poured their blood sweat and tears in this new restaurant/bar. The other bartender Brandy is very bubbly and has an upbeat demeanor even when they are swamped.
Last but certainly not least was Olive also very friendly and probably hasn’t met a stranger.
*** Make sure you ask her why she’s “TikTok” famous.”****
If you’re in town for a visit or live here this needs to be on your list to check out.
Thanks for everything y’all. See you again soon.

I ordered the Mahi tacos and I think they forgot the Mahi. It was lettuce, tomato and sauce which was terrible. My husband got the shrimp pot boy which was excellent. There was a $2.00 up charge on the slaw and it tasted like it was a week old.

Came in to order to go food, the bartender seemed uninterested and quickly told us there was a 45 min wait for food. Did I mention there were only three patrons in the place. Okay, I get it, maybe it’s low staffing but anyways, so we order, we were hungry. Food was finished in 30 min, so lucky for us it wasn’t that long. Got home to open our boxes and found the measliest tuna tacos (it was mostly soft shell, filled 1/4 of the way, being generous on that 1/4) and the coldest and oldest string fries. My mother ordered a Reuben that barely had an interior filling it and I order tuna ahi nachos. The tuna was to be cooked medium and was more like overcooked mahi, not even certain it was tuna. The Lime crema was good but sauce doesn’t fill your belly. So needless to say, after $78 worth of food was a total rip off. Cute inside of building but cutting your service off online for ordering and going in to the restaurant to order isn’t worth it guys. Take it from me— don’t even order from here. Oh yeah, not to mention the 20% take out charge.
