Our server – his name is Jacob, was truly amazing. His service from when he greeted us , took our orders in , explained a few things that we had questions about, and his wealth of knowledge about bourbons was super insightful for my husband to decide his birthday drink of choice which was an old forester birthday bourbon! Good service is rare these days so we appreciate it whenever we come across it.
The food was really delicious. We had the plantains for an app. For entrees i had the salmon filet which it was flavorful and juicy. Hubs had a Sausage Orecchiette and he said it was perfectly cooked.
Overall it was a great experience, amazing food and we enjoyed it very much.
My aunt felt her food had too much garlic to be palatable and the manager graciously replaced her meal. I felt it was handled very professionally and courteously. We were talked to like people.
Giving it a 4 because of the dessert. I ordered the “pumpkin pecan pie”. It was not a pie, it was a tart with a tablespoon of pumpkin filling with a boat load of pecans. Mentioned the disappointment and misrepresentation to the waiter, but I don’t think he considered removing it from the check.
All in all, it was a pleasant visit, but just ended with a bit of disappointment and surprise after the rest of the meal being so carefully crafted and prepared.
Loved this! Took a late lunch from work (which amounted to an early dinner); and there really wasn’t anyone here, yet.
The Tavern has a very rustic “cabin in the woods,” sort of feel to it; and it was an incredibly relaxing meal from start to finish.
My hamburger was tasty; and the Creme Brulee was wonderful. Yum
