Attentive service and a comfortable atmosphere support provocative cuisine and a trend-setting beverage program. The Tailor and the Cook is devoted to offering our guests delicious food and a path to the farmers and producers who we call our friends. The relationship between the food we eat and where it is produced is of growing concern to many. Featuring Local Products whenever possible, menus change based on seasonality, freshness, and availability.

Breakfast Skillet: 9/10! Had both sausage and bacon in it, along with eggs, potatoes, onions, peppers, and cheese.
Blueberry Pancakes: 8.5/10. Pancakes were good but a bit too well done. If they included blueberry jam on the side or in between pancakes that would be a hit!
Biscuits & Gravy: 6/10. Underwhelming, and not what we were expecting. Gravy had an Italian/pizza sausage taste, as opposed to a typical southern sausage gravy. Biscuit itself was fine.
Pizza Fritte: 10/10!! Perfectly done. Piping hot when they arrived at our table; so fresh! Blueberry jam was a fantastic addition.
Bloody Mary: 8/10. Unique addition of furikake and sesame seeds, but overall very good!
Seasonal Mimosa: 10/10! The blood orange liqueur made this drink! Very very delicious.
The host greeted us with a frustrated, dismissive tone, “Well, that’s not really a real reservation,” simply because we had booked earlier that evening. He was condescending, instantly making us feel unwelcome. We asked to sit outside and he resisted, claiming it might rain (it was a beautiful evening with 0% chance of rain in the forecast).
Sadly, the food didn’t redeem the experience. Our meals arrived completely cold. The flavors of the chicken riggies and pork belly over parsnips were very good, but both dishes were cold to the touch. When we quietly shared that the food was cold (something I’ve never done or had to do before), there was no explanation or apology or choice for how to rectify. The plates were grabbed without communication and returned as microwaved, mushy versions of what we ordered. The pork belly came back rubbery. It took over 20 minutes to receive a single beer. And a table nearby was delivered the wrong meal. This was a Sunday quiet night with a mostly empty restaurant.
This was the first time I’ve ever left $0 for a tip, and I say that as someone who always tips generously.
A special occasion ruined by poor service, cold food, and zero accountability (no acknowledgement or apology or reduction on the bill).
An example of Tim and Steve’s gracious hospitality is they welcomed one of my recent bridal parities for some portraits and a round of drinks.
Their staff was so kind, gracious and welcoming! My team, my couple and their wedding party had a quintessential experience at Tailor and the Cook!!! We could not be more grateful!
