This place was a true gem. At first, i was a little comprehensive because theyre a chain. However, the food was amazing! Service was decent but only because of how busy it was. Not too much space to sit at peak hours. Definitely worth the wait. Flavors were so good and meat was tender not dry. I tried the baja, shrimp and of course al pastor. All were bangin! Highly recommend this place!

Feels “just right” here.

Got three tacos here after some guys at work recommended it here. The food is legit good, and the vibe is correct.

Got the asada, al pastor, and Baja fish taco. These are a good barometer for any taco shop, especially one showing itself as an authentic place. All three were great. The Baja fish taco had great crispiness, and it wasn’t greasy. Al pastor was on point, and the asada was great too. The only taco improvement would be to double up the tortillas, but that’s minor.

Salsa bar had a nice selection. From pico de gallo to a nice habanero salsa. I’m not heat fiend, but I felt that even the hottest salsa could be a little hotter. I feel like every salsa bar should have an option that makes me regret my choice, but I was able to handle everything pretty easily. However, habanero salsa had great flavor, and even the macha salsa had great Smokey flavor. I just want a little more punch.

This place was packed when we came through for a late Saturday night dinner. Turns out it was packed just because of the limited seating available inside. We had a group of 9, so we had to split up and sit at the first available seats, which wasn’t too bad since the place is small, so we were all still in the general area of each other. The line moves pretty fast as the menu isn’t that large. Overall the vibe was really cool. It kind of reminds me of gas station tacos you’d find in Tijuana. The temperature inside was on the warmer side which also made it feel more like the weather you’d experience in TJ while eating indoors. The food was great and they’ve also got beers available that you can self-serve from the beer fridges which was nice.

This was my second visit to The Taco Stand in Costa Mesa. The food was really good, we had a carne asada burrito, a carne asada taco, and asada fries, all on point and flavorful. However, our order took about 24 minutes even though there were around 8–9 employees working. The team seemed to get in each other’s way instead of working efficiently. I noticed the guy frying potatoes opened a new bag without care, some fell on the floor, and some went straight into the fryer. That’s something management really needs to address with better training and organization. Also, the salsa bar was super dirty, which isn’t great considering how many people were on shift. The staff is friendly, but they definitely need better direction and training to make the operation smoother and cleaner.

Despite the tight space for seating, the food isn’t too bad! Al pastor is my favorite taco I got here, I appreciate that they don’t skimp out on the guacamole. The churros are pretty solid too, not too oily

we come here once a month every single month for about a year now. The wait can get crazy but the food is so good and worth it. The service is wonderful but a shoutout to Lupita specifically. We love coming here. The only note would be to add a kids menu. We ended up spending more on my one year olds meal (side of beans, side of rice and side of chicken) then we did on our own. It would be nice to have a little menu for kids where I could get a basic chicken bowl with a little rice and beans!!!

You can’t go wrong with anything here. The handmade tortillas are amazing. The al pastor and carne asada are some of our favorites. Don’t miss a bag of chips to try all of the salsas at the bar! Parking at The Camp is always tricky, but it’s worth the wait.

This location has less parking and more on the difficult side, but it is free parking. Also, the inside of the area to sit is small, but the tacos are worth a try. The price is not too crazy (two tacos under $10), and the sauces and side garnish so delicious with the tacos. I tried the mushrooms and carne asada tacos, and it tastes the best with the green sauce, green pepper, and purple onions. I would go there for that alone, so tasty. I do recommend it, and the chips go well with the green one, but they have so many more choices on dipping sauces (sauces are free and can get as much as you want).

Homemade tortillas, very tasty fillings, and well out together made this a great experience. The Sonora style taco is very different than your typical street taco and well worth it; difference being flour tortilla and adding pinto beans. The salsa selection was also very good. Could not get enough of the salsa macha.
