I frequent the taco depot on Miller as it’s my favorite torta in town. Today, I grabbed a torta from the taco depot on 1st and it was not good at all. First, I asked for no tomato and it has tomato on it. Oh well. But the bread was dry and stale, the meat was flavorless, and the avocado on it was brown. Made me lose my appetite.

We loved our visit to taco depot for multiple reasons!
We were greeted promptly and had our drink order in within a couple minutes at most.
We ordered a variety of the street tacos, along with chips, guacamole, and queso. I asked for some spicier salsa and was brought two options :)!
Our waiter, Josh, was amazing! He made an already great experience, a fabulous one!!! He was amazing with our kids and paid close attention to us with multiple check ins. We will be back MANY times.
The kids loved the Burrito, corn dogs, and quesadilla. No complaints, only good comments :)!
I love how the entire building is laid out inside. Open concept, booths and table setup as well as a bar area. Next time we will have to test the margaritas.
I hope you give this place a shot! I love that we now have a place in Cedar Rapids where we can easily get authentic street tacos 🙂 in a freestanding location!

We are in Iowa from out of town and my son randomly chose The Taco Depot out of a google search. We were not disappointed! Salsa and queso were great. We tried most of the tacos that they had to offer between the two of us and each was absolutely fantastic!! Really, you can’t go wrong. To top it off, the service that we received was fast and friendly. We left wishing that we had a Taco Depot in our home state.

Great service. Blue raspberry margarita was FANTASTIC! Tacos Ramirez were great, again. The Avocado sauce would be my new ketchup if they sold it in bottles. And the burrito was good too, Jim said.

I think they were low on servers, took about 15 minutes to get a menu. Food was quicker after that. There were only 3 tables full but I only saw one person serving.

Definitely a great spot!! Food was excellent!! We’ve been chasing Mexico and the Gucamole wasn’t table side but it was definitely full of veggies and peppers!!!

Best street tacos I’ve ever had! The chorizo crispy but soft and flavorful without being overpowering. The Carnitas was succulent and I’ve never tried street tacos with radish but boy do I recommend. The place was packed so a little slow but the service was so nice and they apologized several times which I told them was fine because I get it. Recommend 1000%. Oh and Tuesday is 1.00 tacos, I most certainly will be here every week to try all the different meats they offer!
