What a lovely establishment. My husband and I have been coming here for years—often with our family—and it remains one of our favorite hidden gems in Athens. The owner is exceptionally kind and hospitable, creating an atmosphere that is both relaxed and refined. The food is consistently divine, with impeccable presentation, fair pricing, and outstanding service. Every dish we’ve tried has been thoughtfully curated and beautifully prepared. Truly deserving of five stars—well worth a visit and an ideal choice for both lunch and dinner.

OMG I got the fish and I usually am not a huge fish fan… the sauce was AMAZING… so fresh and flavorful. And the fish is priced the same as the sandwiches, which is unusual in a good way.
Our server was very friendly and welcoming, although be prepared to wait for your food, although it seemed like they were just slower on our order
Indoor and outdoor seating—no tables for more than 4 people
They have limited hours so be sure to plan accordingly
No alcohol served
It would be nice to play some light music so you don’t have to hear everyone’s conversations
I am from out of town and now I have to come back to get their amazing fish with its beauty presentation and delicious flavors

The Table Bistro is a standout New American gem tucked away in Athens, Georgia with a bright, welcoming atmosphere and a menu that creatively blends world-inspired flavors with seasonal ingredients. The friendly staff and thoughtful presentation make every visit feel special, whether you’re stopping in for lunch or dinner. Dishes like the macadamia-crusted fish and fresh salads are delicious and beautifully crafted, and the charming patio seating only adds to the relaxed, enjoyable dining experience. It’s no surprise locals rave about this cozy bistro — it’s truly worth a visit!

Vegan options, beautiful plates, fresh spring vegetables roasted with chili pasta (not pictured). Cost 1/3 less than The National and more creative and colorful. We felt comfortable:Jenny seemed to welcome us as old dear friends.

Husband and I have a wonderful time whenever we visit The Table Bistro. Our most recent visit was on a Wednesday afternoon around 12pm, so we knew we were hitting the lunch rush. When we were seated, we were immediately warned that the kitchen was running about 45 minutes behind. I appreciated the upfront warning and let her know we were happy to wait. The food has always been worth the wait. Husband always gets the same thing: the coconut and macadamia crusted fish over a bed of rice ($15). I’ve enjoyed the fish, but have also liked the crabbed stuffed salmon over rice ($19,) the flounder almondine over rice ($16,) and a mushroom stuffed dish that I don’t think is on the menu anymore. Whenever the food come, my first thought is always how pretty it is. The presentation is top notch. No food is ever leftover on our plates. The seating area is fairly small. There is one unisex bathroom, but has always been clean and tidy. There’s a changing table, which I appreciate, but will likely never bring one of my babies here. I’ve always managed to find a parking spot, but I can see if getting filled up easily. The hours aren’t long, so I would suggest calling to check beforehand. Regardless of any inconveniences to dine here, I don’t hesitate to highly recommend going and thoroughly enjoying yourself.

First time in Athens, so I kept my expectations low. Came in to a warm welcome from the owners/couple, and was politely seated and informed on their menu options. The food was fantastic, clean, not heavy, and beautifully crafted. Tons of flavors all in one dish. You can tell they put thought into what they serve and provide. I felt full and well pleased with my experience and food. Thank you so much!

There are “secret hideaway” vibes to this place as it is in an unassuming spot on Baxter St. We think the food, a unique Asian-Western fusion, is the best in town. Very limited hours, strictly enforced. Check out the hours and get there on time.

As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a huge smile and big welcome. We were immediately seated, served water, and handed menus and utensils. Our food probably came out about 15 minutes after ordering (we got there early and it wasn’t TOO busy yet).
The steakburger with potatoes on the side were AMAZING. Meat quality was great and the potatoes were cooked perfectly.
Would definitely return.
Be warned, it is a bit on the pricier side but definitely worth what you pay.

The food and presentation s are first rate
A bit expensive but well worth it.
This was the best pesto I have found in Athens and generously served with ample seared tofu for us vegetarians.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
