Atmosphere: 11am it was empty, we were able to ask the friendly guy at the counter questions, & placed our order. Loved the jazz music playing! Beautiful old blue & white tile, nice simple decor, tables & counter seating.
Food: We got 2 Grilled Ham & Cheese, Sausage Egg & Cheese sandwich (on Jalepeño Cheddar!), & fresh flavored lemonades. Everything was DELICIOUS! And HUGE sandwiches – thick, generous slices of homemade goodness! I took 1/2 of my sandwich to go – it was a 2nd meal on the road.
The Jalapeño Cheddar bread was amazing… wish I’d bought a loaf!
We couldn’t resist getting a cinnamon roll & a sticky bun to go, but I couldn’t leave without tasting the bun. Heaven in my mouth!! Lots of caramel sauce, I’d love a few more pecans. The cinnamon roll was pretty good, lots of frosting but not too sweet. And it reheated without getting dry.
Lemonade came in a pint container with lid. We got peach & blackberry. The flavor was there, but could be a bit stronger & sweeter. But still yummy!
Check out The Table! I’ll definitely be back for another breakfast sandwich when we’re nearby.
Good breakfast sandwich and good cream for coffee. Just don’t ask for extra creamer. Or ask for anything. Other than the food being good it is like JAIL. You don’t ask for anything or you get your food taken away.
I would have given five stars, but the service left a lot to be desired. The young woman working the counter seemed irritated by even simple requests, like asking for a fork or having a cinnamon roll warmed up. That’s basic customer service—especially after leaving a generous tip.
It’s a shame, because this spot has the potential to be a true gem that people would go out of their way to visit. But service is half the experience, and right now, it’s holding the place back.
The sandwiches are large and delicious. My only complaint is they don’t have Pepper jack cheese as an option. Soups are yummy.
They kept the old floor tiles which are gorgeous with the dark wood furniture.
