The Surfing Pig Hawaii is the elevated “big sister” to the famous Kono’s Northshore, and it brings that same slow-roasted excellence to Kaimukī with a sophisticated, urban-surf vibe. If your home cooking felt inadequate after the last few spots, this place might just be the final blow—the portions are massive, the flavors are bold, and the execution is top-tier.

The Tsunami Burger is a structural marvel, legit around 8 inches when fully stacked. It’s not just about the size, though; the bacon-infused beef patty is incredibly juicy and flavorful, making it a “must-try” for any burger enthusiast.

For bacon lovers, the Millionaire Bacon is a total game-changer.
* It features thick-cut applewood smoked bacon.
* Glazed with brown sugar, cracked black pepper, and a hint of truffle oil.
* Finished with shaved parmesan and chicharron for an extra layer of crunch.

The French Dip is another heavyweight on the menu that doesn’t mess around.
* It utilizes thinly shaved prime rib layered on a toasted baguette.
* Served with a rich au jus that diners describe as incredibly savory.
* Complemented by a flavorful herb aioli that cuts through the richness of the meat.

The atmosphere is vibrant and hip, featuring a modern surf-themed interior and even a hidden speakeasy called “IYKYK” for those looking for a craft cocktail adventure after dinner.

Pro-tip: Buy a pay it forward meal and add it to your tab so those less fortunate in the area can get a meal. Also, parking can be found in the nearby paid lot or along Waialae Avenue if you’re lucky!

Smalll place with great food. The salmon was divine!
ABSOLUTELY NO SUBSTITUTIONS…
but since my husband is allergic to papaya they did give him a vinegar and oil dressing.
Papaya dressing is the only dressing they have.
You can find them on the in-Kind app for deals.
We didn’t try any drinks
Lights dim at about 7

Not a large capacity but can handle a large group call ahead.
Service was fabulous

Food is quite good, Could use more ‘identity’. Amuse from the kitchen was unexpected and pleasant. Truffle shoestring fries cooked perfectly. Sirloin strip seasoned heavily and served perfect temperature. Pork loin is properly done. Only decent mash I’ve had in Hawai’i. Could use another veg side option or another pescetarian dish besides adding shrimp to the Rome pasta, but overall nice. Will be back most likely to chill at the bar and have fries and bacon!

Absolutely incredible from start to finish. We kicked things off with the thick-cut bacon appetizer—yum is an understatement. Every main dish was a hit: the ribs were tender and flavorful, the pork loin was perfectly cooked, and the pasta was so delicious we were scraping plates. Dessert somehow topped it all—the bread pudding and cheesecake were hands-down the best we’ve had.

But the best part of the entire experience was our waitress, Sarah. Truly the best server any of us have ever had and we all agreed this was our best restaurant experience EVER!! She gave thoughtful recommendations, genuinely talked with us, and when we asked if she had a minute, she even sat down and joined our conversation. She was real, kind, honest, and made us feel completely at home.

We enjoyed every single moment and will absolutely be back—especially hoping to be lucky enough to have Sarah again.

The service was extremely friendly and fairly quick but for the price the food was I expected way more. We got the ribs and the ribeye and the steak came cut up which I’ve never seen. The ribs had a great glaze on them but again for the price the food was not worth it.

We thought it would be more traditional American BBQ and were surprised by their “twists”.
I was not a fan of the rack of ribs due to the fennel seasoning but that is a personal preference and I can see others who like fennel enjoying the ribs. Besides the flavor the meat was slightly tender. Not enough to fall off the bone but at least it wasn’t super tough. The brisket on the other hand was very dry unfortunately and came with a small drizzle of sauce on each slice. The side of mashed potatoes that came with it are actually super good.
We actually really liked the pappardelle and while the Mac and cheese was not anything like regular Mac and cheese, we also enjoyed it. The Mac and cheese seemed to be more like a tomato pasta with lots of cheese in it, turning it into a rose sauce. The pappardelle was the perfect pasta texture and super flavorful.
The pork belly appetizer was very small and while it was crispy, I wish it was juicer.
The loco moco was alright. It normally comes with a Sriracha fried rice but we asked for normal fried rice instead as we didn’t want the taste of Sriracha in our loco moco. Turns out the fried rice taste was still too strong and overpowered the meat and gravy. The meat itself was okay, a bit on the bland side. The egg was a bit overdone on top so we did not get a runny yolk. Wish the gravy was more and better seasoned as well. There was a strong overall taste of mushrooms which I am neutral about.

For other sides, the coleslaw was too vinegary for our liking. Their corn is good though, can’t go wrong with it if you like corn. The brussel sprouts were very good, well seasoned and well cooked.
The truffle fries were nice and crispy.

Overall, it felt pricey for the servings and has more of a fine dining establishment vibe than a casual BBQ place.
While I wouldn’t mind getting the pastas and brussel sprouts again, idk if I would come back for anything else.

Got the Queen Bomber to go—so good! They lady at the counter was nice too, and they let me put the sour cream, salsa, guacamole and peppers on the side (sharing with picky eaters lol). Would definitely recommend. Was just inside ling enough to grab the food, so I didn’t pay attention to the inside much. There is also a paid parking lot nearby.

The food is good, but the portions leave something to be desired. For 20-30 dollars I would hope to be fully fed. Not to mention adding any protein costs almost 10 dollars. The inside decor is fine, but the place is freezing. Service is great, nothing was our servers fault. Honestly if you are gonna go, just get the truffle fries and sit at the bar during happy hour. Nothing else is really worth the cost.

Had a fantastic GNO (Girls Night Out) with Sarah (our server who honestly felt more like our fourth) entertaining us. She went above and beyond in accommodating requests (who knew they could concoct a virgin smoked pig cocktail!?) and all the dishes we ordered were delish. Bonus points for scoring a private space in IYKYK. We could laugh and gabble with out fear of disrupting other diners.

Unfortunately just a mid restaurant. The food was really expensive and bad. The pasta was barely even buttered noodles. The speakeasy looks really cool but we ate in the main restaurant and the vibes were just eh. $60 per person with no alcohol was just way too high a price point for this food. Bummed to have spent so much money here.
Staff was awesome and really kind!
