Great san Clemente home town feel here. Eat outside with your dog or inside with local pictures on the wall. The food is great! I had the jalapeño eggs Benedict with hash browns. Not to spicy but just right. Also scrambled eggs with hash browns was very good. Black coffee with lots of cream what’s not to like. Excellent service as well!

When I told the server that I’m gluten free, she offered to substitute sliced tomatoes or corn tortillas for the bread that would normally come with my omelette. (I choose to let my husband eat it instead.) My husband loves diners and thought this place was perfect! There both counter service and tables available. Our food was delicious!

I love that this is an old fashioned dinner! It has an extensive menu but I’ve had the breakfast tacos both times we’ve been there. 3 huge tacos with choice of breakfast potatoes or hash browns. Coffee is great too! Friendly waitress. We went on a week day so wasn’t crowded. Wish we visited San Clemente more often. I’d go there all the time!

This is a mom and pop shop that delivers! Very friendly and quick service. I don’t know how you can make the best Omelette and Hash Browns I have ever had… But they did. Might have helped that it was enough to feed two full grown men. This I had breakfast yesterday and today covered. Anyway, super kind and inviting atmosphere.

We happened upon Sunrise Cafe as we traveled through San Clemente. The entire staff is very friendly and happy. Veggie omelettes are our go to and this place makes the best Veggie Omelette hands down! Putting this place on our list of places to return for a great breakfast.

We were heading back home from a stay in Dana point & discovered our tire was flat, we stopped in at the Big O tires to get the flat tire fixed and they recommended the sunrise cafe to take the kids to breakfast, so we walked over to the sunrise cafe, we were instantly greeted and sat right away, the staff was so kind so friendly, Our food was delicious!!!!! We left the cafe walked back to Big O tires to pick up our vehicle and get back on the road for a 10 hour drive to home .. 3 hours into our drive, my son panics and says mom I left my retainers wrapped in the napkin at the sunrise cafe, (retainers are expensive to replace) I thought it was a long shot but worth trying, we called and sunrise cafe, Lexie answered the phone (she was our waitress) I begin to explain the situation & ask if there’s any chance they could look in the trash, (realizing, knowing what I was asking was out of the ordinary & gross to rummage through trash looking for retainers wrapped in a napkin) Lexie was so kind, she said let me see what we can do, she took my phone number down & told me she would call me either way. I said thank you & we ended the call. A few minutes later I received a text saying the trash was already taken out to the dumpster. I replied no worries I understand, and I thanked her for her efforts.. A few minutes later she text me again saying “we’ve got them “ what’s your address and I’ll send them to you… I couldn’t believe it! They did not have to do that for me, I couldn’t believe it, we are so incredibly grateful! we had already loved our experience at sunrise cafe, this experience has left a forever impression and impact ! Thank you Lexie! Thank you Miguel thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a recent bike ride through San Clemente we stopped at the Sunrise Café for breakfast. I ordered the blueberry pancakes, which have got to be the best in town. The service was phenomenal and attentive. Would definitely go back to people watch as you sit on the patio and watch the cars go by!
