Absolutely phenomenal breakfast food in an amazing atmosphere. From the moment you step in, it feels like stepping into a museum and experiencing a beautiful piece of history. Walking from the entryway through to the main dining room is a fantastic experience and right from the get-go, the service is incredible and super friendly! The food is absolutely magical, I’ve never had bacon or a waffle taste like the ones I’ve had here, even the eggs are so unlike anything I’ve ever had anywhere else. I highly recommend coming here for breakfast if you’re in the Dayton area. If you’re not in the area, then come here and experience a breakfast unlike any other!

Fantastic! I knew their baked items were good, but the breakfast food was amazing! Food-gasmic good! The steak was perfectly cooked, and the potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The bacon was nice and sweet, and the biscuits and gravy were the good kind of home-y. The olive oil cake!!!!!!! Get it!!! So yummy!!!! And the cinnamon rolls!!! We were lucky and got everything fresh out of the oven, so good!! New go to breakfast place!
I gave a 4 star for the atmosphere just because it was in a bar and kind of dark, but honestly, I didn’t mind bc the food was that good.

Easy transition from ordering and sitting down. The food is super delicious & big portions specially (the Sugar Guild Breakfast). I’m not cinnamon roll fan. But the one I had became my favorite.
Spacious area with plenty of seats & tables
Cool & vintage environment, made to explore around and they have art for sale too.
Overall, it’s a unique and delicious breakfast/brunch place with plenty of options to choose from.

This new restaurant (opened September 2021) is definitely worth your visit! My girlfriend and I both lived it. Delicious and large sized portions seem to be the standard, you may need a takeout box. I really liked the thick cut bacon in my sandwich. The crispy potatoes (not pictured here) were perfect (we’ve been trying unsuccessfully to make these at home but Sugar Guild has it down to perfection). Also the unique, eclectic decor is really nice.

Delicious food! I thought their bacon is better than “million dollar bacon” at first watch (3 pieces instead of four but it’s Cheeper too at Sugar Guild). I got the sweet and spicy sandwich- good value for food at $10! Sandwich was juicy and chef who greeted us said they are knife and fork sandwiches. Suggestion for the restaurant to use steak knives or ones sharper than the butter knives they provide because it’s hard to cut the house made bread with the butter knives… They offered refill on coffee and were very friendly.

The Sugar Guild is worth a try. This place reminds me of France where we stayed for two years. The food has an extraordinary taste of chard wood fired grill. Kudos to Dee! What are you waiting for? Let’s meet in a place with good vibes and good eats! Soon to come: Delicatessen and while waiting, get your hair done at their new Salon.

A wonderful atmosphere, dedicated staff, and delicious meal. The smell of the wood fired oven fills the restaurant, and is lovely.
Upon entering you place your order at the register and then head to a table. Before our meal came we were served olive oil cake, which I had never heard of, but I greatly enjoyed the subtle almond flavor and light texture.
I ordered their signature Sugar Guild Breakfast which is a great way to sample different offerings. I substituted the over medium eggs for their herb eggs. The biscuit was obviously made from scratch, and served hot and fresh with their excellent gravy. The potato had a dark, crispy exterior and nice crunch that contrasted well with the soft interior. The egg was light, and fluffy, flavored with the herbs and a nice hint of smoke. And then the bacon was last. It has a sweet coating, and was slightly crunchy, yet soft and pliable which I feel is the perfect cook on bacon. All of it was great, and I will return for more.
My girlfriend ordered the oatmeal. It was shockingly large at certainly more than a liter of oatmeal and almond milk piled high with strawberries, blueberries and brown sugar. She said it was the best oatmeal she’s had, and such a generous portion.

At first I was skeptical because it is a bit eclectic and the entry is a bit different, but the food was phenomenal. The thick cut bacon is absolutely delicious, as were the waffles and eggs. All of our food was very good. The service was great, everyone was very friendly. Do yourself a favor and have breakfast here!

One of the best breakfast/brunch we’ve had in dayton. Traditional breakfast options with nontraditional textures/taste. We ordered the French toast and sugar guild breakfast. French toast was really interesting, not too sweet, lots of egg flavor, and quite crispy on the surface.
The sugar guild breakfast had two eggs, bacon, potatoes, and biscuit and gravy. The bacon was sweet and melted in my mouth, biscuit was crunchy with creamy sausage gravy that wasn’t too salty, and potato with skin that was really crunchy and tasty like baked potato chips. Again, not a very traditional breakfast diner taste/texture. Overall, very tasty.
The interior was quite roomy with lots of seating available and art throughout. Varied sized cups and plating. My wife got a giant jar for iced water and I got a teeny little jar for iced water so I ended up drinking her water when I was done with mine in two sips
The only reason we’re not given it 5 stars is because it took 45 minutes from ordering the food to arrival of food. Granted, it was a busy Saturday brunch and it took 20 minutes in line to order so we sort of assumed it would be a long wait for food. A heads up from the staff would have been nice though. Also, maybe just because you have the seating capacity doesn’t mean you should seat everybody that comes through if it means an absurdly long wait to get food out? Detracts from the experience in my opinion. Maybe if there were some nice drinks and cocktails to help pass the time that would be more enjoyable but alas only tea, coffee, and water for beverages.
Would definitely go back but I would go back just slightly hungry due to the long wait

My friend and I recently enjoyed a lovely brunch at The Sugar Guild on a rainy Sunday morning. The atmosphere is perfection, like you have stepped right back into the early days of Dayton. Yes, the food does take longer because everything is made fresh and made to order. (Seriously try that French toast!) The service, on the two occasions that I have been there, has been outstanding. The servers, and the chef have been outgoing and friendly. I highly recommend that you enjoy a leisurely weekend brunch sipping the awesome espresso and enjoying the atmosphere.
