The server was friendly and brought all of the food out to me just as soon as it was ready. She was attentive even as more customers trickled in.
I opted to try the chicken tortellini soup to warm myself up a bit. It was delicious- so flavorful! – and I could definitely have ordered a second cup. I added a side of onion rings and am so glad I did. They were exactly as I like them – crisp and nicely battered.
I also ordered the #4 chicken cutlet with bacon and cheddar panini. I was really thinking about trying the Buttermilk chicken sandwich, but I usually love a panini and went with that instead. To be honest, this was not my favorite sandwich. The bread is not the usual panini bread I am used to and I didn’t love it. There wasn’t a lot of flavor to the chicken either- it was a chicken cutlet exactly as described – and I thought there would be more seasoning in the breading. I am sure this is just my personal preference and someone else would enjoy it. Although I don’t eat deli sandwiches, there are other items on the menu and the daily specials that I would definitely come back to try. And that soup!
Overall, this is a nice lunch spot with a variety of options for everyone to choose from. And if you are onion ring fan like me, make sure to get an order!
When I went to pick up, one of the employees was being rude to the hostess… it made the interaction very awkward. The hostess was super sweet though
I’ll be back to give them another try
20 mins pass and a couple got up and asked where their food is as its been 45 mins and they now have to leave for an appointment. They were told politely that their food will be ready in a few more mins. They left.
Fast forward to 1:05 I ask where our food is and we’re also about to leave. The waitress went to check and came back and said 4 more mins. Ok we waited this long. 8 mins later (yes I counted)the food came. My wife had the Procuitto and eggplant and roasted red pepper sandwich. (Highly recommend it was very good). I ordered the Cuban. The fries were also good and priced fairly at 2.99 a basket. My sandwich was not to my liking as they make it differently, they include some kind of salami. I couldn’t eat it as it tasted funny to me and I did not realize there was salami. Asked the waitress for the check told her that my sandwich was not to my liking. The owner comes by and asks why, I told her it tasted funny/different and I could only eat a quarter of it (2 bites). I wasn’t looking nor did ask for a comp or anything. She appologized, but than she had to turn around and almost demand what and why specifically I didnt like. I told her and she argued with me that this is the “traditional” way of making it. (It’s not in all places the salami is an optional item.) She than says ” Well I wish you told that to us earlier” To wit I replied “I would of if someone actually came around to check on us”. That prompted a profuse and sincere appology and a full meal comp. Maybe another staff member for the future. I am up in the air about returning.
A tad cramped but cozy little place that is well worth the visit
