A group of us from work have been wanting to try The Steer for lunch for quite some time. We were all pleasantly surprised with the reasonable prices, great service and excellent food. We will definitely come back. Support local businesses and give The Steer a try

I cannot believe how delicious this place was. The crab cakes were absolutely delicious. Probably one on my top 2 most favorites. Late I had the 8oz Sirlion cooked med rare, served with asparagus, a veggie mix and slow roasted mushrooms. I regret absolutely nothing. The food was amazing.

Amazing! Dont listen to the bad reviews, come in and taste the food for yourself. Highly recommend the 16oz ribeye. We got ours medium rare, seasoning was perfect. Side salads were plenty big. Cozy place, enjoyed the piano on friday night 🙂

I chose to give this place a shot. First, I’d like to point out that I received a very warm welcome from at least 3 employees. At no time during my stay did it appear the servers were unhappy or negative. I ordered an herb chicken breast & garlic spinach. The salad & bread arrived first and they were quite delicious. Then, the main entree came. At first glance, it looked appealing. I ate a few bites and quickly discovered that most of the bottom was burned and black. Cutting around the charred areas, I attempted to eat the center. It was rather soft. In my opinion, the chicken was overcooked on the outside and not done enough in the middle. When the waitress came to my table, she agreed that there were various burnt areas and took the dish into the back room. Soon after that, (I’m assuming he was) a manager came to speak to me. He apologized and mentioned that the chicken was cooked on a grill. I understand meat grilling but if something is burned, that burnt taste overtakes any flavor one would hope to find while eating the rest of the item. I politely offered to just pay for the meal, that I appreciated his offer to make things right, however, I just kindly wanted to leave. He left the table and went back to the cooking area. The waitress returned to my table and respectfully said “You’re free to go.” and that it wasn’t necessary for me to pay anything. Maybe I’m just more careful with the meat I grill for myself. I don’t allow it to char and I make sure it’s evenly cooked both inside & out.

they would have got 5 stars, but the seasoning on the ribs was way to salty. Cara was an excellent server, everything else was great, but as I do not eat salt on most of my foods… I did tell my husband it was nice to see that a restaurant actually seasoned their meat when cooking it. But as I ate it seemed to get saltier & saltier and it was only 3 ribs, it was cooked well & had great bbq sauce, but for me personally it got to salty. My husband had the burger & said it was GREAT, I did try the onion rings, and they were wonderful. Overall a great experience, I just will avoid the ribs in the future. I was hoping for a really good cheesesteak sandwich, they had french dip, but not a cheesesteak. Cara stated the they would be happy to make me one but I went with my second choice, the ribs, which had just come off of the smoker that morning. We will give it another try & we would like to try their other place–“Fish on Fire” which is also in our local area. See you again soon.
