A beautiful restaurant nestled in Dolores, CO. The restaurant is very new and clearly treated with love and care. The building and interior is very high class and upscale with a romantic fireplace centralized in the main room. Each table had live flowers in a vase, giving a touch of care to the experience.

We ordered steak and salmon. Both were excellent, with the steak being cooked to perfection (med-rare). The sides are standardized with the meal Each a potato and vegetables. The Creme Brulé was a perfect size and very delicious.

Lastly the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of food and dining experience you get. If you are in the area, I highly recommend a visit.

This is really a great place. Our server Nicole was friendly and attentive. The food was hot and fresh and tasted great. The daily soup, beef stew is probably one of the best I have had. It is definitely worth stopping in to eat if you are passing through or staying in the area.

Thank you for making my Grandma’s evening on her 95th birthday! I called from Hawaii and asked for a slice of cake for her. The staff went above and beyond with an entire cake and singing happy birthday.
I’ve enjoyed this restaurant a couple of times when I come back home to visit. It’s always been great all around. The owners took over The Ponderosa, a staple in Dolores for 60 years, and made it even better. Mahalo!

We had reservations for a family dinner at 7:00. We were seated right away and provided our drinks. The atmosphere is nice with a lovely fireplace. The steakhouse was very busy tonight, and we noticed the waitresses & hostess were very busy.

The service was somewhat slower than expected, however, due to the busy holiday season this wasn’t unexpected. Our meals were prepared and presented very beautifully, and the steaks were tender.

Unfortunately we had a young man (evidently one of the owners) going to each table asking if we were interested in playing Bingo to “liven up the evening “. We understood that he was getting a vote from the attendees as to whether this was something people would enjoy this evening. We explained we were attending with family, and were looking for a nice meal out. We declined the offer.

Because of our later reservation, we were served our meals about 8:15. The majority of attendees left around this time. Just after we were served, this young man started a very loud, rambunctious bingo game with about 8 folks.

We were across the restaurant and literally couldn’t hear each other in conversation without yelling. It was very disturbing to be in a very nice steak restaurant, and not be able to enjoy our meal and conversation secondary to the boisterous bingo game happening. If we had been in a bar & grill having bar food and alcohol, we would have been more prepared for this loud, obscenely raucous gathering.

Unfortunately we were in a reputed nice steak restaurant paying $40-50/plate dinner and were completely overwhelmed, over stimulated, and felt our meal was ruined. If they wished to party, it would have been much more appropriate to do this after all the other guests there wanting a nice dinner had departed. This caused us to get our food to go and to leave as soon as possible.

Maybe this young man should purchase a bar & grill to run rather than a nice steak restaurant. Our families who reside in Dolores and Cortez will not be returning. I hope others don’t experience this unfortunate situation.

First of all we walked in with over 20 people in our party- the staff was ON IT!!! 100% satisfied with not only the atmosphere and staff but the food was FANTASTIC! Our party ordered everything from the French onion soup, wings, coconut shrimp, several pasta dishes and especially the burgers, everything was absolutely delicious! This establishment is an absolute must try. Great place to enjoy a beer, dinner and watch the Cowboys get beat!

The food was amazing, but the service was garbage. My boyfriend got the short ribs, and I got a pasta dish. We had been seated by the hostess but it took at least 45 minutes before someone even bothered to check if we were ready. We had watched people be seated and their orders placed before a server came over and blamed it on the new girl. It then took another 30 if not more for the food to come out. Getting the bill took even longer because everyone was standing around the hostess booth gossiping.

The food is generally pretty good, but the overall experience doesn’t match the price point. The service tends to be slow, and the noise level inside is overwhelming—making it hard to enjoy a $60 steak. With better management and some sound-absorbing improvements, this place could offer a much more enjoyable dining experience.

This place is absolutely incredible. The atmosphere was 10/10. The staff was 10/10. The food was 8/10. The drinks were 10/10. I went by myself but this would be a great date spot. Keep up the good work! I will be telling all my friends how great this place is. Even though it’s almost 2 hours away from where I live, I’ll be back.

Great steakhouse especially stand out in Dolores Colorado. Very modern but I’ll never be back cuz the local laundromat owner. I’ve been coming to the Dolores laundromat every week since May, spending $15–20 each time and supporting other local businesses in Dolores along the way (gas, food, beer, dispensary). Altogether, that’s hundreds of dollars directly in this laundromat and several thousand into the Dolores economy. Today I brought in my laundry as usual and tossed one small kitchen bag of trash in the dumpster. The owner came outside, yelled at me, and told me to take it out because “this isn’t a public dumpster.” I pulled the bag right back out, no problem. But the way it was handled made it clear my regular business wasn’t valued.
So here’s the bottom line: I’ll be taking my laundry and all of my weekly spending to Cortez from now on. Dolores just lost a loyal summer customer and thousands in tourist dollars because of how this was handled. One bag of trash cost this laundromat and the town much more than it was worth.

Think about it like this:

Gas station – I was filling a tank every week since May, even a conservative 13 gallons) at $4 a gallon is $50–$60 each time. Over 16 weeks, that’s $800–1,000.

Laundry – $15–20 a week = $240–320.

Beer – Even modest, let’s call it $20 a week = $320.

Weed – At an ounce a week (Colorado dispensary pricing, call it $80–120 an ounce), that’s $1,200–1,900.

Food – Even just $40 a week eating out = $640.

Add it all up: I’ve spent somewhere between $3,200–4,200 in Dolores since May

Now here’s the sting: the laundromat owner didn’t just push away my $20/week of quarters, he pushed away the anchor that kept me spending thousands in town. One trash bag just redirected an entire summer’s economy from Dolores to Cortez.

In other words he swapped out a bag of garbage worth maybe $1 in dump fees for the equivalent of a used car in lost revenue for his town. That’s not a win for “protecting his dumpster,” that’s a bad trade any way you slice it.

You’re asking why is this review here because in the town the size of Dolores you all should understand why you’ve lost money. And who is responsible
