The State Restaurant is a casual dining atmosphere where you can enjoy your favorite foods, small batch whiskeys & craft beers with friends & family. The name pays homage to the restaurant’s first location on State Street in historic downtown Redlands.
Industrial-rustic gastropub serving upscale burgers & comfort food, plus craft beer & whiskey.

My daughter and I stopped at The State for a quick lunch after her Dr. appt and the food was very good, I actually had a appetizer for my meal, I ordered the poutain with short ribs it’s was so good and my daughter got a burger. I ordered a cocktail that was beautiful but I didn’t like the taste.. But that wasn’t their fault, more my taste buds. I reordered a drink I knew. The service was so friendly, Brittany and Julianna was our servers, great job ladies. I’d recommend to stop in for a visit to have some great food and service.

My husband raves about this place as one of his favorites, but TBH every time we’ve gone I’ve been disappointed. This last time, I don’t know if the chilaquiles are usually so spicy but like… I’m a sriracha fanatic and I was really struggling to enjoy (rather than endure) the heat of whatever was on those tortilla chips; I spent most of my Valentine’s brunch focusing wondering when the waitress was going to come around with more water because I kept gulping mine down. The bread pudding was a welcome, cooling/soothing reprieve, though; definitely the best thing I’ve had off their menu, by far.

I didn’t expect the service and atmosphere to be this amazing! Such a perfect spot for a weekend hangout, whether with a friend or on a date.
The food is absolutely delicious, and their bar is well-known for a wide variety of unique cocktails. The bar setup and service are excellent.
The manager was extremely friendly, suggested great dishes, and was very helpful and smiling the entire time.
I can confidently say this is one of the best gastropubs/bars in Redlands when it comes to food, ambiance, and overall experience.

Went to the state for the first time to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. I had a pretty good time, my burger and salad were good, nothing that blew me away to be honest. I did appreciate the surprise ice cream for the occasion, though! Very kind by the restaurant. But one thing I was sort of surprised by was the service. It felt like the hosts were a lot more welcoming and friendly than our server. Our hosts smiled, sparked conversation, and made sure we were settled. But our server felt like she was doing the bare minimum, taking our order, checking in, giving us our check, and not much more. There was little to no friendliness or conversation. I’ve seen more hospitality at restaurants that don’t even have servers and hosts. Not tryna leave a 1 star review, but definitely was expecting more from the service and food overall.

Amazing cocktails and the best Date Appetizer. Went by on Saturday with a few friends and Aubrey was out server. She was the sweetest and very attentive, amid it being busy. Love love love!

A group of girlfriend and I stopped for lunch. We found the servers very nice and helpful. We ordered happy hour menu at 11:30 am and had a very good lunch and reasonably priced. The beef tacos were very tasty. The bourbon burger was excellent and cooked perfectly. My wedge salad was good. Overall very nice lunch visit.

Great food! I had the grilled cheese artichoke spinach sandwich. It was delicious. It was grilled with garlic aioli butter. Delicious! Waited almost an hour for seating on a weekend even though they had open tables but they were leaving them in case big parties showed up. But the service was good. The music was a bit loud. But I would return for the food and the ambiance. Great little place.

Awesome location and patio for a Sunday brunch. The presentation of the food was spot on… the food itself was decent, but not as delicious as I expected. For example, the “tempura battered” onion rings didn’t seem to be of actual tempura batter (more like flour). The salmon eggs Benedict comes on brioche but it lacked texture… a crunchier bread like standard English Muffin would have made it much more appealing.
On the plus side, service was really good and the prices were reasonable.

Other than a bit of noise, I highly recommend the place. We ate avocado tacos, braised beef tacos, and the chicken pesto sandwich and the State salad had a wonderful lemon vinaigrette dressing. (It also was enough to split between two ppl). Our appetizer was the bruschetta and we split dessert, and had the creme brulee.

Stopped in here the other Friday night with my wife for dinner. We popped in and found out that we had made it early enough to order from the happy hour menu. I want you to know that everything that I’m sharing here was from the happy hour menu.
We started out with the bacon wrapped dates and they were so good. My wife really liked the balsamic drizzle on them and I enjoyed the Gorgonzola on the side. We also ordered the web Charlotte to start with. I felt like we should eat some salad and have something healthy. That was super good to.
After that we had our main courses brought out. One of our courses was the burger that had bacon and onion ring on it. I’m forgetting the name of it right now. And then my wife got the mac & cheese. We didn’t get it with lobster in it we just went for regular mac & cheese.
Food came out quickly, and our server was super amazing. We had a great little table to sit at. If I was to say one thing as an adjustment, the music is just a touch loud in this place but that’s not something that’s going to stop me from coming back.
