I’m a BBQ lover I found this small out of the way place. They have BBQ egg rolls appetizers that are in a world all their own. The are about 2 inches around filled with coleslaw, pulled BBQ, fried just enough to cook the egg roll . THE COLESLAW IS STILL COLD. with sweet BBQ sauce drizzled over it with ranch to dip it in. They are cut on an angle so you have 6 pieces to share. I like them un cut so I don’t have to share hahaha. And you can eat them on the road. I made the mistake of taking the lady’s in the office some now every time I go by there I have ro get them some and take them back to macon ga for them

most delicious! we shared the sampler platter and got meat to go. Everything was amazing! the meat was tender, juicy and flavorful. the sides were good. we will definitely be back when in the area. just an fyi. they are open thursday – sunday.

I wondered why my friend never recommended this restaurant. Sat down on the back patio and it was so nice! Great atmosphere, lovely service. I was shocked as to why. I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of mac n cheese and Brunswick stew
The sides were great. Great Mac n cheese, great Brunswick stew.
What was disappointing was the brisket. Brisket is supposed to be so flavorful, and this was flat out bland and flavorless. Honestly the worst brisket of my life by a country mile. It wasn’t inedible… it was just very flavorless. Flat out needing the BBQ sauce at the table in order to provide semblance of flavor. I will definitely be ordering something else should I go again, however if you’re looking for top tier brisket, this is unfortunately not the place. I would be willing to try again though, because service, staff, and atmosphere were top notch!

Amazing!!! I had the chicken tenders and I kid you not..the BEST chicken tenders I have ever eaten in my life. So juicy and tender on the inside and super crispy and delicious seasoning on the outside! So sad I’m not from NC because I would be hitting this spot up all the time oh! I also had the Mac and cheese- also super delicious!

The wait here was VERY long, so come early. I tried pulled pork and brunswick stew. Both were pretty good, but my expectations were pretty high. I drove about an hour to get there and waited for longer than that. Maybe the food was being rushed because of the crowd, but it wasn’t good enough for me to give it another shot.

Just some good southern country BBQ and food. It’s been hard to find a decent BBQ restaurant where we live and thank goodness we took a chance on The Spotted Pig. It has a great selection of food. This is our second time visiting this restaurant and we are excited to try everything. Everything is made fresh daily. They sell out of the pulled pork daily so we didn’t have a chance to try it the last time we were here. Fortunately we called ahead and they just pulled some of the smoker. We can’t wait to be served. The smokiness of the food is amazing and makes the anticipation even stronger.
Okay so we just got our meal. OMG, we finally have a GOOD BBQ place! The pulled pork is moist and delicious, the ribs are EXCELLENT and the Brunswick Stew is amazing. The cornbread, Collards, and BBQ beans are so good. Our server Halli was sweet and attentive and was the one to recommend the Brunswick Stew. I’m so thankful she did! We are so thankful that we found this place. Do yourself a favor and try the Spotted Pig out. You won’t be sorry.

We were camping at Lake Hartwell State Park and this spot is located up the road. About average BBQ, nothing earth shattering. I gave an extra star because service was excellent, the local craft beer choices are excellent and the venue is very cool. But as far as actual BBQ, meh – I wouldn’t rush back. Sliced brisket – I ordered fatty cut. Nope, got regular cut. It had a deep smoke flavor, which was a great flavor – no bark at all, bummer. The brisket was on the juicier side, but seriously, I asked for fatty cut – I wanted fatty cut. I thought she understood, oh well. Ribs. Touted as their specialty. These were above average, juicy with a deep smoke flavor. Very good. My wife ordered the pulled pork, she like it and said the home made potato salad was great.
Mac-n-cheese – white cheddar, creamy as very good. Corn nuggets, skip – no flavor, very underwhelming. Also, what is up with their tiny portion of side dishes? Serously, eight corn nuggets? Is that Mac-n-cheese served in dressing bowl???? No value there, we got sides with our plates — but if I paid $5 for a side and it came out in this portion, I would be very UN-happy (see pic). I am not sure we would go back, the locals in the joint were having seafood and that looked fabulous. Oh well, win some loose some.

The ABSOLUTE BEST BBQ in the area. It’s about a 45min drive but worth every minute. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I enjoy the pulled pork or ribs each time we go. Baked beans and sweet potato crunch are always a must have. Eating outside is a pleasure on the right afternoons. Normally an ample crowd but never too long of a wait. Will definitely continue ro visit in the future. Always a pleasant experience.
