Some of the best Greek food that I have ever eaten. The warm pita and hummus were incredibly delicious. My wife had the street gyro and it was almost orgasmic when I took a bite. It was probably the best, melt in your mouth, most amazingly tasty meat I think I’ve ever had. Since this is U of F campus area, it is best to park a couple of blocks down and walk in. The parking garage was quite difficult to manage with my Toyota Tundra double cab, but we made it. The Spot is definitely the spot for authentic Greek food obviously made with much love and care. I can’t recommend it enough!

The Spot, was quite literally, the best food I’ve enjoyed immensely in years! I ordered the Gyro Plate, which came with a salad, and I ordered a side of Hummus with Pita Bread. If I could afford to eat here every single day, I really and truly would! It was beyond delicious, spectacular, magnificent, fresh, and I am thankful I tried them! It’s my new favorite, and I am obsessed! Pictures just don’t do it any justice, you really really have to go try it! And please tip, it’s well worth it! I love this place very much!

I truly and honestly LOVE this place.
I started going here YEARS ago, when I was an undergrad at UF. This place has sustained me through my masters degree, and now for two years (and counting) after that. In the 5+ years I’ve been going here, every single experience has been amazing.

The chicken is seriously flavorful.
The pita is soft and delicious.
I LOVE their tzatziki. It is SOOOO good.
Their fries are well seasoned, fresh, crispy, delicious, amazing.
The owners are friendly (she even remembers how much I like extra tzatziki with my meal).
I would give this place 10 stars if I could.
Just try it out for yourself- you will NOT be disappointed. Delicious food and very reasonably priced. I WILL be returning again and again for one of my favorite meals.

BOOT. This place used to serve awesome, crispy, fresh onion rings last semester! Now? I ordered onion rings and was given a box full of burnt, out of the bag, obviously manufactured thin excuses for onion rings. A massive downgrade in quality that was not obvious until you spent money on it.

Was looking for something a little different but not too expensive while in Gainesville for an appointment. We found The Spot listed not to far from where we were and Greek sounded like a nice change of pace.
We ended up paying to park in the little deck right next door as all the Street parking in the area was full. When we walked in we were underwhelmed by the atmosphere… two small cafe tables inside the corner shop, a walk up counter to order from, and a drink cooler or two.
The lady at the counter greeted us briefly, not rude, but not what I would call pleasant either.
My husband ordered the Street Chicken Souvlaki, and I ordered the Classic Chicken Souvlaki combo.
The food was ready relatively quickly and smelled great! Mine was huge!! Though they were both gyro style sandwiches, mine was definitely bigger than my husband’s by far. He enjoyed his, which had the fries inside the sandwich (he didn’t read what all he was ordering), but I ended up giving him the other half of mine because there was no way I could eat it all. There were pieces of chicken falling out everywhere! The tzatziki sauce was great, but the sandwiches could have used a little more. When i got to the half way mark, the chicken was starting to get a little dry so a bit more sauce would have been great. They may have given it to us if we asked but I already knew I was done with it myself, and my hubby seemed fine with it as is.
While the ambience and service were basic, the food was good, and there was plenty of it, so overall not a bad deal for the price!

Fantastic, truly mom-and-pop place. The gyros are tasty and generously portioned, the veggies on them were very fresh and crisp, and the fries were hot, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. The service was very friendly, and my order was ready in less than two minutes! On top of all of it, their prices were unusually reasonable. Genuinely one of the best spots in the area!

I got the street chicken souvlaki and I really liked it. It was pretty big and there was fries in it which made it super good. It had mustard which I didn’t expect I normally don’t like mustard but it was ok. I really liked the wrap itself.
My boyfriend got the burger and he really likes it he said it’s one of his fav spots to get a burger in Gainesville.
We ordered inside and our food took about 15 minutes.
I would recommend this place, it is even cheaper than a lot of places on university.

Food here was delicious! I had the souvlaki but we also had an order of chicken quesadilla and a gyro. I loved the flavor of the tzatziki with the chicken, the gyro looked delicious and the kids enjoyed the quesadilla. They had lots of drink options and the salads also looked tasty. Overall was good and I would come back again.

Best pita for a gyro in town. Also, a ton of meat, I wish they chopped it up so it is easier to eat. The only downside was not enough taziki sauce on the gyro. Order and made within 5 minutes.
