This place was on my list to try while I was in IL for a week. Last day here. WORTH it. We were sat immediately, the waitress Bria helped choose between two coffees and two meals!!! Husband loved his meal too, has leftovers for tomorrow. Tha k Bria for a wonderful experience for my last meal on IL!!!

I came in to the southern cafe today and I ordered the chilaquiles, cinnamon roll pancakes and my mom ordered a BLT we paid 50.57 and the food wasn’t that good the food didn’t have any flavor and I think that was too much for food that didn’t have any flavor. We had a wonderful waitress named Vicky.

Spacious restaurant. Friendly service. Food was fresh and came out quickly. Reasonably priced. Food was good.
We had catfish & Grits, Denver omelette, fried green tomatoes, and a fruit punch lemonade. Grits were bland, but the mushroom sauce on top was flavorful. Everything was good.
Atmosphere was pretty quiet for a packed house and everyone including the staff, were mannerable.

This place has never let me down! Biscuits and gravy is great, pancakes and skillets are as well. Evry time I have gone here no one is our groups were unhappy, and all enjoyed their meals. Definitely recommend.

One of the most attentive and intuitive servers I have had, maybe ever. This was also the best restaurant biscuit I’ve ever had. Made a super tasty sandwich. The Irishman (corned beef) skillet was house-made and very tasty. Good coffee, great breakfast. All around impressed and eager to go back and try again.

Food is always delicious and fresh! No concerns there! I love coming to this brunch restaurant! They have large portions and you will not go away hungry! Good pricing and delicious options.
However, the manager was incredibly rude. I was talking with him and the cashier and an employee came up in the middle of the conversation interrupted and he allowed it and ignored me intentionally. I was in the middle of asking him how best I could have a small group of friends on a Saturday which is their busy day? I was trying to work our group in and accommodate the restaurant. He said it would be very inconvenient! He didn’t want us coming. I explained we would work with their schedule and wait our turn, how much we love their restaurant, and it mattered little to him. Disappointing for sure.
One person at an establishment can really make a difference to help or to cause people to not want to come back. Unfortunate for sure.

Tip was included on my bill when we had five people at the table. Not a large enough party to force 20 percent tip. I wouldn’t mind if the server wasn’t such a rude hag. She treated us like we were an obligation. Been here several times and wont be back for a while. Plenty of other places that dont have rude servers that know they are already getting a tip regardless of how they treat people. Do better.

Do yeah this breakfast place is pretty good, they’re super accommodating as in if you want to alter something from the menu its no problem, food is served still hot. So they actually still cook theyre food not reheat it. I promise if you go once it’ll be your go to place for breakfast, also quickly the wait staff totally on point and nice…..TIP BIG they deserve it!!!!

Let me tell you! This place was five stars all AROUND! First..we arrived for a birthday party, WITHOUT a reservation (I was not the host) for 20+ people (Yes! We were THAT group). They were obviously worried, but they didn’t show it! They were kind, festive, have us excellent service, AND the food was EXCELLENT!!!!

Nice big restaurant. We got a table on a Saturday morning right away. Service was good…food was so so. I ordered hot tea and was given luke warm water. My wife’s cream of chicken soup was also luke warm. Her chicken avocado sandwich was delicious! Portions are good. I had an omelette that should have been cooked longer.
