Recommended by a coworker. We work in Pinehurst so it was a 20min trip. Inside it was fairly small but people were in and out quickly. I didnt know what to get as I am fairly easy to please with food. I went for the chicken and rice soup. They had sold out of the lasagna soup. Just based off the name I would have loved that. The soup was hot and had a lot in it. For the sandwiches I got both a chicken salad and egg salad (why not, right?). The egg salad sandwich took me back to my childhood. It was great! I then went for the chicken salad sandwich. It’s was crunchy-lettuce and celery, sweet from the grapes, and a large helping of chicken.

We are new to town and wanted to try all the food around here. Lady on the phone was incredibly rude. Spoke to me like I was stupid when I asked about their menu. Then the food was terrible. Broccoli cheddar soup was watery and tasted like it had no salt. Sandwhich tasted like a sandwhich you can make at home. I usually give places 3 plus tries before I write them off, and never leave bad reviews unless people are incredibly rude. With the service I received, we will not be back. From the looks of some of the reviews, you should probably learn how to speak to people like you want to be spoken to.

Cozy spot in downtown Carthage. Beware of the lunch rush. There is not much seating inside. You can eat in the hallway (2 tables) or opt for to go!
They always have delicious soup and wonderful sandwiches.

What a hidden gem in Carthage. It’s homemade from the hands of goodness. Had the soup and sandwich special for under $12. Creamy and delicious chicken poblano soup and a half chicken salad pita sandwich. Soooo good and they garnish it with fresh fruit and a chocolate cookie to boot!

Wonderful to experience a restaurant with such high quality soup and sandwiches. The decor is simple and clean, with lovely touches on the walls. I had the tomato bisque and I will come back just for that, it was so good. The chicken salad with grapes and water chestnuts on toasted wheat was hearty and flavorful. Our server was efficient and very nice. Shame on me for not getting her name. This sure shines as a “mom and pop” establishment. Two bitty fudgy brownie bites were complimentary and worth breaking my healthy eating plan for!

Absolutely delicious! Quaint decor, local place and good food. The only thing that could make it better would be outdoor seating. Enjoyed it .
