I came for breakfast however I ended up ordering the Crawfish and grits with a cup of Shrimp and okra gumbo. My server Naia brought out a heaping bowl of creamy buttery grits generously covered in a rich decadent sauce full of Crawfish and Tasso with onion and pepper that was a mouthgasm of flavor with just a touch of spice and heat! The gumbo was a bowl with a large amount of Shrimp in a light roux with a healthy helping of perfectly cooked fragrant rice in the center sprinkled with fresh scallions! The coffee was rich and smooth. My server Naia was friendly and attentive and kept my cup full. Chef Eddie Williams was gracious enough to stop and check on me. He is a fine gentleman and a craftsman of his art. The vibe reminiscent of old school small restaurants where the community comes together for food and fellowship. This is not just cuisine for the mouth but sustenance for the soul! When you crave flavor and hunger is driving you near to madness…the Smoking Egg is the answer!

Came in for the first time after a few people I know recently visited and said they enjoyed it. I tried the Shrimp and sausage gumbo, a Shrimp poo-boy and and some fried chicken wings. Everything had great flavor and was made hot and fresh. Our server was very attentive and took good care of us. Would definitely recommend stopping and giving it a try!

Omg better save this spot in your faves. I’m just sayin: Service is top notch! (ask for Nini) And Edward and his whole team are fantastic with that southern hospitality. They not only put the love in the food they go the extra “step” and put their foot in it. I give them 3 foots up
PS. They’re special recipe for their waffles is

I had crawfish, crab meat, and mushrooms omelette, pancakes also gumbo. The omelette was delicious, pancakes were too flat for my liking, the Gumbo was not it! Too watery and no flavor.

Out for an appointment we’d just finished, we were looking for a local brunch spot and found this place.
Immediately greeted by super friendly, personable staff and fun music, I was excited to see some creole and many southern specialties on the menu.
I ordered the fried green tomatoes with a couple of eggs to throw on top and my husband ordered the shrimp and grits and we both had black coffee. We were beyond pleased… everything was perfect.
Efficient, friendly service, delicious food and great environment.
We’ll be back!!

I decided to try this place with my mom today. We arrived around noon. I was greeted by a friendly person at the hostess stand. We sat and our server come to get our drink order quickly. My unsweetened tea was fresh! I like my tea freshly made. I ordered the crab cakes with the candied yams and collard greens. The yams were a little too sweet for me but that may be mostly my taste buds because I dont typically care for sweet foods, hence my unsweetened tea choice. The crab cakes were great! Full of crab! My mom ordered the smash burger and considering how she literally smashed that burger and finished it, it had to be good! Try this place out!

Deciding on a breakfast place, I came across this restaurant- I didn’t realize I had added it to my ‘want to go to’ list. The experience was great. From the time we entered the restaurant until we left. Everyone was friendly, greeted us in and out. Our waitress, Kiki was nice. Had a small issue with my food and it was fixed without issue/complaint. The owner even came over. The vibe the entire time was great. The RnB music was a nice touch. Real simple vibe. Affordable prices. The food was delicious, seasoned. We ordered: omelets with grits and hasbrown. Added a crab cake (could’ve been hotter). Out of the many breakfast places we’ve eaten, my man cleaned his plate and didn’t have any complaints. Will return to try something else. Nice little gem.

The Smoking Egg Brunch is a solid brunch spot with some positives, but it did not quite rise to the hype for me. The food was good overall, just not anything mind blowing or particularly memorable. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared, but the dishes leaned more toward simple and straightforward rather than creative or elevated.
The shrimp and grits were good and enjoyable, but again, it is a fairly basic dish without much complexity or a standout twist. The environment is very simple and casual, which is fine, just nothing that really adds to the experience or makes it feel special.
That said, the service was great. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the visit pleasant. Overall, it is a decent place for brunch if you are nearby, but not somewhere I would go out of my way for.
