Delicious! First got one of their waffles at a jazz festival years ago in Hartford and knew I had to go to their restaurant. I’m originally from CT and plead for my mom to bring me here every time I’m home from Boston. Recommend it to all my friends if they’re in CT. I think the Newington location is great. They take credit card now which is nice! The chicken and waffles is all I’ve ever ordered because it’s to die for truly. Get it with the powdered sugar and maple syrup (my mom does without the sugar). The chips are perfectly crispy and so tasty! The chicken is juicy and breaded beautifully and the waffle is the most delicious sweet thing you could ever eat. I always end up having leftovers for later or the next day and it’s just as good cold but easily warmed up.

Yes, the waffle was tasty; but the chicken on the waffle was pounded so thin that the coating was thicker than the chicken. A little syrup offered on the side would have off-set the dryness. The hash browns would be much better if even a little crispy. The coffee was amazingly weak. The atmosphere was homey, but our asking for a bigger table in a near-empty dining room seemed to annoy the staff. There is no service. The woman at the cash register was pleasant, but I hope they step up their game.

Staff is extremely friendly and food tastes amazing. Every food item I had was very good. This is a very casual restaurant where you order at a window and a server brings you your food. The banana pancake I ordered was bigger than my head and it tasted divine. The apple waffle tastes exactly like an apple pie. The home fries are delicious. The decor inside is full of ironic signs. Overall would recommend.

Went here for the first time yesterday and was shocked at how I had never been there before.. as soon as we walked in we were greeted and then asked if we had ever been there before the waiter when we told him no then explained so stuff to us. And the food was so delicious the chicken and waffles was the best I’ve ever had..and let’s not forget to mention the fresh made whip cream I don’t want to sound like a broken record but it also was the best Ive ever had..highly recommend this place.. definitely can’t wait to go back again

I travel to Newington Connecticut and searching for a good breakfast, I found this gem. First of all was founded by a Puerto Rican like me(Luz Ramos). The flavor of Waffle with the Mapple syrup was perfect. The fried egg with bacon over Waffle and cheese was fenomenal. They serve a potato with a sweet flavor that make me happy. The coffee is better than other coffee around..The total price for two people was $37.00. Update I come back before my flight to Puerto Rico and met the founder in person Luz is a beautiful soul. They bring me the speciality dish chicken waffle that was unique, they use only natural ingredients. This time the coffee was perfect so all it’s good. 5 of 5

Quite delicious! Went there for the first time today and got the sloppy waffle meal. I dont think I’ve ever had eggs and cheese on top of a waffle before but it was a great combination. The portion of sausage was very generous I would def go back again.

Outstanding! The customer service was genuine and very welcoming, especially for CT (IYKYK). The menu is vast, and it takes some time to narrow it down and make a decision. Everytime I come home to visit family I always stop by at least once to have breakfast here. The food is always amazing and never disappoints. The seating inside isn’t great but the music and decorations make the atmosphere nice and enjoyable for a quaint breakfast/brunch.

Sloppy Waffle was once a great place to visit, but it has lost it’s way. The food was subpar, the waffles tasted like frozen, grocery store quality food, the home fries were just chunks of boiled potatoes with no flavor, the restaurant was freezing, I had to eat with my hat and coat on and the overall cleanliness was just bad. Unfortunately I will not be returning. I truly hope they can get either new management to come in and “clean house”, or for current management to get back to it’s glory days.
