We stopped into The Slinger House at peak dinner time on a Friday night fully expecting a long wait. To our surprise, we snagged two seats at the bar — and that turned out to be the best decision of the night.
We were greeted almost immediately by our bartender, Michelle, and our drinks came out quickly and were absolutely spot on. She let us know there was a temporary hold on food orders and clearly explained when ordering would resume, which we really appreciated. No guessing, no confusion — just clear expectations.
Michelle checked in on us regularly, made sure our drinks stayed fresh, and kept us updated the entire time. As soon as ordering reopened, she already had our order ready to go and placed it right away.
Despite how packed the place was, our food came out surprisingly fast. We both ordered the blackened fish fry with potato pancakes — and it was excellent. The potato pancakes were perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The fish was light, flaky, and cooked just right.
From the service to the food to the overall atmosphere, everything was on point. Great experience all around — we will absolutely be back.

Absolutely outstanding experience at Slinger House. The French onion soup was rich, flavorful, and perfectly comforting, the dirty martini was expertly crafted, and the blackened cod was phenomenal — perfectly seasoned, flaky, and cooked to absolute perfection. Every bite was impressive.
Michelle’s service was incredible. Even with a temporary hold on orders, we felt truly seen, heard, and completely taken care of. She kept us informed, stayed attentive, and made sure our experience was enjoyable from start to finish.

Great service and atmosphere. The Caesar salad and French fries were really good I wasn’t big on the soup of the day veggie beef but will definitely come back again.
Edit: I was expecting a less intense soup I guess it had a sweetness and barbecue-ish taste that I didn’t expect by the name

Wow! So happy we tried the new Slinger house. We had poor experiences at the old Tap 9 but everything is new and different now.
Appetizer was amazing, thank you Stevie (our waitress) for the suggestion. We went with the burgers as it was the coldest night of the year and it felt right. Wine and Old Fashions made to perfection!
So happy for the new ownership as this place needed change. We will definitely be back.
Shout out to Stevie! That girl really works hard and is passionate about her job.

My friend and I stopped in to get some quick food on a Friday night. Fell in love as soon as I walked threw the door. Clean, polite staff, fast, I had the Ruben and was the best ive ever had … I normally dont take time to write a review but this place definitely deserves a few positive words. Its 3 hours away from my house and I will absolutely be coming back. They deserve a 12 outa ten.

Awesome that the Slinger House is back open! Such a cool spot in the heart of Slinger. Thanks to Michelle our waitress, we had excellent and prompt service. She took care of our special requests for our food order and was very attentive. The food was great tasting and large portions and came out quickly. Mike came around and introduced himself and encouraged us to check out the party room in the back ahead of the live music planned for the next night. This space feels like you have stepped into a secret venue. We will be back!

We went to Slinger house for weekday lunch. We ordered the Reuben sandwich with soup of the day, and the shrimp and mushrooms risotto with french onion soup. Both soups were good, we really enjoyed the french onion. The portions were large. The Reuben tasted amazing and the risotto was good – I did enjoy it and got two meals out of it, but I expected it to be lighter and wouldn’t get it again. Overall, good service and experience.

When doing a Google search today this restaurant came up for Hartford locality as being a prized place for good burgers. My wife and I were wanting to try something new so we tried this restaurant by getting out burger as a take out. We asked for medium and that’s exactly what we got. We also asked for lettuce onion and tomato and smoked gouda as the cheese. It was absolutely delicious I would highly recommend you try this new updated restaurant. Lots of menu options will be going back there real soon. We had the sour cream and chive french fries which were also very good. Good parking easy to find wheelchair access ramp in the back by the parking lot. Clean and well-managed dining area. The bar is well stocked and nicely presented with many Tapper beer selection and variety. More to come as we try different menu options in the future. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Absolutely love the atmosphere of this place! Second time here. Had a patty melt at the bar that was most excellent! Service was also very good. Third time here. Patty melt was again excellent. Tried the fish combo bucket as well. Potato pancake was way too crusty almost as if it was deep fried. Shrimp was very good. Bluegill and perch were not very flavorful.
