Sittin’ Sasquatch sits just past the thickest of Skagway’s tourist traffic where I stopped in solo for breakfast, then returned later with coworkers for lunch, and both visits confirmed a friendly, unhurried spot serving hearty plates at prices kinder than most in town.
Breakfast consisted of their biscuits and gravy that hit all the comforting notes, generous without being over the top. I added a sausage patty on the side, which was flavorful but had a texture that hinted it might be a plant-based option, as another reviewer had suggested. Coffee is drip-only, but with their sister café right next door, anyone craving a latte or something frothier is covered.
Our lunch group sampled chowder, paninis, and salads, and everything followed the same pattern: solid portions, fresh ingredients, and good value compared to busier spots closer to the ships. Meeting the owners was a bonus. They’re a warm, hardworking couple, and it’s easy to root for them.
Sittin’ Sasquatch may sit at the far end of the street, but the walk pays off. It’s a dependable, personable option for both breakfast and lunch, and well worth seeking out.

Super cool restaurant in town! We went for brunch while in port from our cruise. The staff was super welcoming and we loved the home town vibes of the place. I wish I remember our waiters name, but he was absolutely lovely and very patient with my slow ordering. I got the avocado toast and my partner got a wrap. Food was really good! Our waiter gave us all their hot sauces to try! All delicious!! When we come back on our next cruise we’ll be sure to visit again! Thank you all so much for being so kind and welcoming to my husband and I!

This was a place I hadn’t heard about and wasn’t highlighted on Google or anywhere. We stumbled upon a menu outside on the window and returned with our party to eat. It was a good find. The food was really good and it was a great experience. The two downsides were the seating and the portions. I ordered the Yeti Berry and it was underwhelming in size. It was really good, however I left just about as hungry as I came but wasn’t willing to spend more than the nearly $20 I spent already to satisfy my appetite. We also ordered a thanksgiving dinner panini that was flavorful but was disappointing that it had cheap lunch meat instead of carved meat for context of the name. Value is the only reason I wouldn’t give a five star here. The tall tables are hard to eat at if you plan to get up during your meal. The chairs don’t slide and you end up hitting your knees a lot.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Skagway, this restaurant was super cute, had friendly staff, and delicious food! Had the grilled cheese and there was so much cheese, so delicious. Cute vibe inside as well. Def would go back if ever in Skagway again.

Great place! Came here with my husband for some breakfast before everyone got off the cruise, nice and quiet and delicious food. My husband even ordered a second dish! Cole was very personable and told us some background of the place and of Skagway. Worth a try!!

Stumble upon this wonderful restaurant while walking around downtown. Their coffee is good, they use the famous Juneau heritage roasted coffee bean. Must try their white chocolate mocha with coconut syrup. And they serve the delicious anchorage reindeer meat hotdogs. Friendly and fast service too.

This place is very cool. The host/server was initially on his own and slammed but he was gettin after it and super polite. Zero issues. I had the Yeti Betty and it was ridiculous…over the top…and so damn good. Lot of flavors that were enjoyable. M
My wife had the biscuits and gravy and they were top notch. By far some of the best I’ve ever had outside of a fire station. The flavor was perfect and just a little pepper for heat. This is a must experience place.
