I have been to The Simon twice with the same dining companion, and both times the service and food was top notch.

The first time we visited was not too long after the JW opened, so I thought that perhaps everything was perfect due to the new staff, equipment, light level of patrons, but then we went back this week and it was even better. Typically, I find that higher end. Restaurants within a hotel are not as good as restaurants that are freestanding. I feel that without the mandatory foot traffic most hotel restaurants would not do well on their own due to average food and inflated prices. The Simon is VERY different from that. I would dine at The Simon even if it wasn’t conveniently within the JW Marriott hotel. The ambience and the finish outs are absolutely gorgeous and I love how the booths are numerous and often curved so it’s a very cozy environment to with just some the right amount of lighting. The kitchen is very open and you can see deep within, and the plating and presentation counter is right there in full view. You can see the staff finishing the plates and it’s wonderful to watch. There’s a cute little room where they hold all the cheeses for which they are knowing . It’s not in my diet at this time, but they are known for their incredible cheese selection. The menu is leather covered front and back with gold embossing. No tables clothes so it feels more modern.

The service is exemplary. I think about 7-8 different people visited our table to bring us various appetizers and drinks and we entrées and clear. Their lemon lavender butter brushed on the yeast rolls is amazing! They will bring you a little appetizer for tasting as well, and everything is plated on a very unique type of vessel.

We ordered the crab salad as an appetizer that was beautifully dressed on a chilled plate. Both times I visited I had the tile fish which is perfectly cooked on a bed of leeks and sprain onions. I don’t make this at home so it’s wonderful to have a restaurant prepared so nicely. My partner had the hanger steak with a watercress salad and ordered the chickpea fries as a side. They were perfectly fried and had a soft texture and came with a roasted red pepper sauce. His hanger steak was wonderfully cooked and you couldn’t even tell that it was that type of cut, it was so tender it almost tasted like a fillet. Both both times we died my partner had the Simmons old-fashioned, which came with a beautiful rose shaped ice cube. He mentioned that it was a particularly good old-fashioned.

We never ordered desserts, but they had a very good variety and were relatively inexpensive. We did have
espresso, which was wonderful.

This is the type of restaurant that you just don’t happen to frequent because you’re staying at the hotel, I would come here regardless

Decor and ambiance were great and align with the JW Marriott brand. The wait staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and suggestions. My water was always filled and they swapped utensils for fresh ones between each course. The experience started with a basket of asorted breads and homemade butter with flake salt. Each of us also received an amushbush which was a small tart filled with very fruit compote and Camembert. We agreed that it needed a little less Camembert because it overpowered the fruit and it was really all you tasted. The presentation of the entrées and desserts was absolutely beautiful. The portion size was good for me because I don’t eat a lot but others in our group have a larger appetite and were not full. It was unclear from the menu description which items came with a side and which did not. Basically only 1 did and we should have added sides. The flavor profile was hit or miss. Some of the items stood out while others were average. At this higher price point, they nail the service and experience but need to have more consistency with flavor and cooking temperatures.

Had an amazing dinner at The Simon. The restaurant looks beautiful with a great bar and interior. The drinks were excellent—we tried the Veranda and Lake Anne Smoke cocktails. The Carolina Gold Rice Risotto was my favorite. Great service and a wonderful experience overall.

Had an amazing dinner at the Simon thanks to Chef Tony and the other incredible staff! From the moment we checked in until we paid the check, every person we encountered was awesome! All of our dishes were a 10/10 and the bread was the best we’ve both ever had hands down. Just an all around amazing meal!
Would recommend the Simon to everyone.

Came to this cool new place on New Years Eve and it was one of the best experiences in a while for us. Not only the service and staff were phenomenal the food was on the next level. The beautiful arrangement, amazing flavors, interesting menu items and dessert from another world. Seriously, Cuban Cigar dessert is a must! I think my own favorite items were the cheese sample we got, the chickpeas fries, wild mushroom side along with the puree, with Tomahawk for 2! I think looking at how everyone was at the place made it that much better, the attention, the friendliness and professionalism were superb. Our new favorite place for very special dinners, is now here!

We stopped by The Simon in Reston and sat at the bar, and it was such a great experience. The space itself feels upscale and polished definitely one of the fancier spots in the area, but still comfortable to hang out in.

The espresso martini was smooth and not overly sweet. You get that bold espresso flavor with a creamy finish, and it felt crafted rather than rushed.

We also tried the chocolate cake, which was rich & moist. Paired with the espresso martini, it was the perfect dessert moment.

The bar staff was attentive, warm, and professional, which made the whole visit even better. Overall, a beautiful atmosphere, great drinks or a date night, and the dessert itself is worth coming back for!

The Simon, a French Mediterranean-inspired restaurant in the newly opened JW Marriott Reston Station hotel in Northern Virginia, delivers an exquisite dining experience. It has quickly become a standout with a focus on fresh ingredients, a well-curated cocktail bar, and an extensive wine list. I absolutely loved the color scheme, the stunning light fixtures, and the combination of wood and leather furnishings that create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Brunch was nothing short of fantastic. The pastry basket, eggs Benedict, and omelet were delicious, expertly crafted, and healthy. The refreshing Orange Creamsicle juice was a delightful burst of vibrant color and flavor, while the Protein Blast smoothie was tasty and nutritious. To top off this remarkable meal, the scone served with homemade butter and lemon curd was the perfect finishing touch.

Jean’s exceptional service made the entire experience memorable, and I truly appreciated Chef Tony’s warm hospitality. I can confidently say that The Simon is a remarkable dining destination, and I look forward to revisiting.

Here’s a polished, standout review you can post as-is or tweak slightly for your tone:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Experience at The Simon

The Simon delivers on every level. The food was absolutely outstanding—beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Every dish felt thoughtfully crafted and memorable.

The drinks were just as impressive. Creative, perfectly balanced, and expertly made, they elevated the entire experience and paired wonderfully with the meal.

What truly tied everything together was the service. Attentive, friendly, and professional without ever feeling intrusive. The staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of from start to finish.

Whether you’re going for a special night out or simply want an excellent meal with fantastic cocktails, The Simon is a must-visit. We can’t wait to come back.

Recently learned about this place from a friend. The atmosphere is very positive and I love the design choice, layout, and furniture plus the arched ceilings on the sides. The food was excellent. Our waiter was very professional and answered all our questions. The manager stopped by our table more than once to check on us; he was amazing and I appreciate his attention to the customers. I would like to try a dinner in the private back room and I would definitely recommend this place for a business dinner, date night, or just a place to get a great meal and service at a quality environment.
