The Sideboard is a board game cafe where you can play board and card games with family and friends while you eat. We have a huge library of games that you can play in our cafe and our staff is happy to teach you how to play them. We have food, beer/wine, coffee and desserts.

Great place to get a bite to eat and talk with friends over a game. My wife and I went on a spur of the moment decision, and we were so glad we did. The food was very good (if slightly expensive) and the service was perfect. Everyone played Battleship Bingo (so fun!). Nice selection of beer too! We will definitely be going back.

We stopped in for the first time after hearing many good things from my social circle. It did not disappoint! I’ve been to other game themed restaurants in other regions. The Sideboard was cleaner, offered better food selections, and was overall more enjoyable than other similarly themed establishments we’ve been to. The staff was attentive, very helpful and service was great. Love the variety of beverages. I also love that you can get a snack, eat a meal, or grab a little dessert. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful decorations and themed around games to compliment Cape Fear Games next door. Exciting menu, I highly reccomend stopping in, getting a sandwich and playing ine of their boardgames they have available! I had the roast beef sandwich and the apple fries, absolutely delicious!

Love the new cafe beside Cape Fear Games!! Delicious food served hot and quick, very nice beer selection, reasonable pricing. Wide array of board and card games to play in shop, or you can step next door and buy something new you haven’t tried yet (we did!). Great atmosphere, pleasant hum of conversation. Will be back!

Love this place! There are lots of games to choose from and there is no charge to play, which I find generous. They have a cafe counter where you can order a light meal/snack or a beverage (coffees, beer/wine, sodas). I found the prices to be more than fair.
Great place for an inexpensive date night or a small gathering with friends!

Healthy menu options and everything is so tasty! Large selection of games and the staff happily recommends games and explains them to you if you ask! Great atmosphere and unique place for family fun or fun with friends!
I wish the vegan options were more reasonably priced though but the company seems to be very accommodating to dietary restrictions.

This place is really cool. There’s a doorway into the game store next door inside the restaurant. They have all different kinds of foods that would appeal to adults and also children. The thing about this place that makes it so great is they have all kinds of board games I’d say over a hundred different ones of all different levels. So you could go take your family have cool little bites of things to eat and play tabletop board games. Which is exactly what I did

This place is awesome! I’m In Wilmington on vacation, and we went to sideboard and had so much fun! The food was great, and the staff was amazing and so nice, friendly, and personable. The whole aspect of this place was so cool. I wish there was one back in FL. The game store next door Cape Fear Games was awesome too, they had like every game imaginable, the staff there was also great, helpful, and friendly. If you ever go to sideboard have Fia serve you she was great.

This place is almost perfect. Loads of games you can just pickup and play, and an ok selection of foods. I wish they had fries! My only complaint is their hours. They should consider extending their weekend hours, or just not kick people out at exactly 10. It’s been twice now where I’m in the middle of a game and enjoying a beer when suddenly they say, ok its 10 everyone get out. You can technically bring the game next door but not the drink. Can you imagine being at a restaurant where they say, oh your meal isn’t done? Too bad, we’re closed, pick up your plate and go outside. Otherwise wonderful concept, beautiful space, were just want to spend more time there.
