Been coming here for years, gets worse with each visit. I dine in only and dont carry out. Im guessing covid-19 messed it up, hopefully it will turn around soon. Past 10 times I been there, maybe was asked once for a refill. If drinks was out in open, I would fill my own. Paid 6$ today for 5 fried oysters, never consistent with portions. Guessing oyster prices going up.

Shrimp and Scallop diner. They made a mistake and put fish instead of scallops at first. But made it right without having to ask. Good food and terrific service.

This is a local restaurant that seems to get things right. Tasty shrimp and fish and other entrees including crab oysters and scallops. Most of the food is fried but you can also get some other options. I had several of the sides and they are good as well. Friendly service and reasonable prices keep me coming back again and again.

This is my all time favorite place when it comes to SHRIMP! They moved the original location to, Sumter, and I still drive 45 minutes from Columbia for their half-pound popcorn shrimp! So so good!

This place was GROSS. My food had no taste, was old and cold and for the amount I paid, absolutely disgraceful. Also, I ordered sweet tea but it tasted like lightly sweetened water and my hushpuppies were burnt. They wont get me again. I don’t know about the service. My husband went for me so I’m not sure about that but the food was awful. I didn’t even eat it.

Had not been here in a couple of years; this visit was disappointing. The shrimp were smaller than usual and all I really tasted was the breading. Green beans were okay, but tasted like they were not fully cooked. New person on the counter had to stop and ask info from kitchen area to complete our order.

This is my 1st time stopping here. I place my order to drive through. The cashier was so pleasant to talk with. I was the last customer for the night. I even had a chance to speak to the Cook and he was so generous to make sure my food was hot and prepare exactly the way I requested it to be. I will return to his restaurant. Mainly because of the workers and the food.

This is a review of the Shrimper restaurant in Sumpter South Carolina.
I met there with another veteran friend for a casual afternoon lunch this is about an hour and a half trip from where I was coming from and I had never been there before.
We both had dine-in and we both had combo platters which included shrimp and fried catfish along with french fries and coleslaw and a drink each.
First and foremost customer service is a six star⭐. The ladies working behind the counter are absolutely fantastic besides coming over to let you know that the food was going to be just one more minute, to asking if you needed refills to coming over with a smile and asking you how everything was this is a long lost art people these women are absolutely I cannot say enough fantastic at customer service.
The food was very good ,decent portions ,not small but definitely not huge. The price was to me so so at about almost $30 for two of us to have combo platters with drinks and tax . I guess that’s about the going rate though these days for lunch.
If the portions were slightly larger this would be a five-star restaurant all day long as far as value, taste, portion size and customer service.

I had the clam strip dinner. Good portions of clams and fried okra but the hush puppies were tiny. I wanted to add ONE piece of fish but quickly changed my mind when told it’s a $5-6 charge!! Service is friendly and not a long wait for freshly cooked seafood.

Fish platter was the worse; the fish tasted like nothing but expired greases, and the macaroni was old and tasteless. The best thing was the 2 hush puppies they gave me. Adding my own Hawaiian bread couldn’t save the taste of that fish and had to go get something else to wash the after taste.
