Shrimp Shack is a super cute spot and absolutely worth the long drive. The shrimp are incredibly sweet. I highly recommend getting the 5 lbs.

Pro tips. Bring a cooler and ice, or you can buy ice there if you forget. Have one person stand in the shrimp line while another stands in the hot food line to save time. It’s pet friendly, which is a plus.

I also recommend going earlier in the season around May. It gets pretty hot in the summer, and it can be difficult to find a table with shade.

Had a really nice experience right from the start; the employee at the window was awesome. We got a couple of their homemade clam chowders in the bread bowls. The chowder was rich, creamy, and really hit the spot. And seriously, those bread bowls were baked just right… so buttery, toasty, and flaky!

Great spot for burgers and bags of shrimp. This place is supposedly a local favorite of the people in this city so we had to try it.

We got the grilled fish tacos, oyster burger, chowder, and a bag of shrimp.

The fish tacos were great. Lots of flavor, lots of meat like a lot, and good sauce. The oyster burger was really good as well. Classic burger, just a bun, meat, and sauce. However, the oyster was surprisingly really good, again a ton of meat, it was oozy out the bun. Another good item is the chowder, I don’t think it was the best I’ve ever had but it was delicious and I would get it again. Lastly the shrimp bag, their main offering, is good, lots of shrimp. The shrimp have a unique flavor unlike most shrimp you eat. It’s a different type of shrimp that you get in restaurants. Good value and worth the try.

Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area. Note the line starts pretty quickly after they open so be prepared.

This is a must go place if you are exploring the area. We tried the fried variety of shrimp, it was great. We didn’t notice they were selling shrimp by the pound, we’ll need to try that next time. There is no indoor dining, but there were plenty of picnic tables under a tiny. If the weather is good, no problem. They do sell bottled beer. Overall, a great experience!

This place took 35 minutes to get through the line with about 20 people in front of us.

I think the oyster shooters ($4) come for a jar

I bought 5 lbs for $50 for small and medium shrimps. I would recommend just paying a little more for just the medium shrimps. The small ones are still good but only if you are eating them whole.

The fries were delicious. I like the way they fry their fries.

A bunch of people brought rice and dipping sauces so might be a smart move to bring your own dipping sauces.

Seating was very spacious.

Dog friendly! I’ll be coming back again

Price was okay but let’s just say The Shrimp Shack served shrimp so small, I needed a magnifying glass and a prayer.

Sure, it’s freshly caught but someone forgot to tell the chef that portion sizes should feed humans, not Barbie’s brunch squad. I came for a seafood feast and left with a crustacean crumb. Blink and you’ll miss the shrimp or mistake it for a seasoning.

The name promised Shrimp Shack, but let’s be real it was giving Snack Shack. Cute for a photo op, but if you’re hungry, you better keep driving or bring snacks from home.

Final verdict?
Shrimp of hope. Bring a microscope and a side of expectations, extra small. ✨

Came here after leaving Rosario for the tide pool… the place was packed with cars and people. Every picnic table taken and super busy. That being said, with very few people inside, our food was done exceptionally fast. And it was made up to perfection. Tartar sauce was good, shrimp and the fish were definitely fresh. We got the kids meal fish & chips and the kids meal popcorn shrimp basket, both came with a small drink and everything pictured. Great service with smiles and great food, what more could you ask for?

We went out for some fresh shrimp, but turns out they don’t start serving it until May. So we got clam chowder and cod & fries instead—and added a side of oysters too. Everything was super tasty, not too salty at all. The fries were nice and crispy. Definitely coming back for the fresh shrimp next time! ♥️♥️

I’ve been to this place a half dozen times. Every time the food had been great. Today, I got the deep fried oysters, popcorn shrimp and side of deep fried cod. The fries are amazing, one of the best. As well as the deep fried oysters. Really fresh oysters, well cooked and nicely battered, not too much batter sna not overcooked. This is debatable, since some people like it well cooked/dry, which i think is terrible. This is juicy still, like med/ rare, which all shellfish should be cooked. First time we accidentally got the popcorn shrimp for free, but we’ve been ordering it every since. Really good, the batter sticks on the shrimp and not too much. However, this time the side of cod was not really that good, soggy and not fresh tasting, disappointing. I’ve had it in the past and it was good. I’ve also had the halibut and clam chowder in the past and both were good. Will come back again. But expect a long wait in the summer weekends, especially on warm days. Very popular pace. There’s a covered place to eat outside. In winter, they might open a small inside area, but that’s usually not open. Typical order up front and pick up at the side by covered seats.

Grilled onions weren’t included and I wish they told me that it wasn’t going to be as described on the menu in person or that they ran out. They were really busy on Labor Day. The patty was good, but small and my last few bites were just bread and mayo basically. The fries were good though. Overall, not worth the money.
