My husband and I live locally and are trying new-to-us restaurants for the next 15 days in celebration of our 15th wedding anniversary. Feb. 17 we opted to try The Shrimp Dock in Bearden. We were not disappointed!
Fresh as it gets this far from the sea, I was thrilled to read that their scallops are sourced in New Bedford, Mass. I tried a scallop plate…cooked to my liking… grilled in butter and garlic served over rice…melt-in-your-mouth goodness! Hush puppies and coleslaw also delicious. My husband tried the coconut shrimp with fries and slaw. Large portions of both entrees.
Great service…lots of freezer and fresh items to return home with. We took fresh salmon and in-house made frozen chowder.
Definitely will be our seafood of choice from now on. Two days later we ran into locals who gave us a little background on The Shrimp Dock which made us even more of a fan!

I recently visited Knoxville and on my list was to pop back into this spot to see if I was able to satisfy my crawfish craving that remained from my last visit there when there was a slight mix up. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT AT ALL!! They cooked the crawfish to perfection, seasoning a little on the salty side but they total understand that the seasoning of crawfish is in it and not on it! My order was even topped off with a cherry on top called a cooker garlic bulb, OMG how did they know I was wanting one so bad! I went two days in a row (don’t tell my other half lol), and both days they were better than good! I plan to stop in every single time I am in the area during crawfish season

Really enjoyed having lunch here in November, when I had just started to work in Bearden. Got a fried shrimp po boy, excellent flavor and great texture. The cashier was so nice and welcoming, with great recommendations when I couldn’t decide which fish or side to pick. I left him a generous tip for dealing with my indecisiveness while he was assisting other people. He had dirty blond, pulled back long hair, I wish I had gotten his name so I could pay the compliment forward to the higher ups.

This place is so hit or miss! I had it just yesterday and it was great, I tried it again today and the bread is so stale (and burned) it crumbled and fell apart in the first bite, there is no soft area it’s literally a crouton that tastes minutes away from molding. The shrimp is severely overcooked but still tasted fine, the texture was if it had been fried, left at room temperature then microwaved. The sauce was globbed onto a single area instead of spread. Very embarrassing and IMO unacceptable to serve to a customer. i love this place, but please do better than this. This was a long John silver quality sandwich

Wow!!! This place is AMAZING!!!! The best seafood I have seen in the state for sure and on par with many fish markets I have been to in Europe, which is a HUGE compliment I have been here many times and will continue to visit.

How is this my first time visiting this diamond in the rough!!!! SUPER CLEAN. Super fabulous inventory. Everything you need for a fabulous seafood dinner- to eat there on site or to take home!!! We ate a dozen oysters in the dining room and took a dozen home! Yum! We just ate oysters in DC two weeks ago- the Shinto dock was better!!!

My son had taken me to the Shrimp Dock several years ago, when he was still in school. We moved to Knoxville a few months ago, and we wanted to get back and get some seafood, but with everything going on we hadn’t made it yet. We happened to have an errand today right next-door and it was lunchtime so, heck, yeah, we stopped in!
Everyone was super friendly. The menu is great and the prices are super reasonable for such fresh seafood. I got a shrimp po boy (and there was SO MANY SHRIMP) and my husband got a catfish po boy. Both of us really enjoyed it. The fresh seafood and soups to take home, lobster tails, etc., looked so good. We will definitely be planning to stop in and get seafood on a regular basis!

I came here to eat for the very first time and I’ve lived here for 20 years. I grew up in the Deep South, but for some reason, I never came to this place of business. I was recommended to try the chef tacos with fried okra and I got a soft drink. It came to $19.67. I thought that was steep, however, when I bit into the tacos, you could taste the freshness of the seafood well worth $20 for this meal. I will definitely be back probably tomorrow in the next day because it’s so delicious. I wish I could give 10
