Created by two fathers hoping to provide resources and opportunities for both their families and community, Blakely Chicken was formed in December 1976. The partners—James Mitchell and George L. Hutchins, along with the help and support of their wives, Katheryn and Evelyn, respectively— initially employed family members and close friends to help manage and operate the business. As time passed, the customer base grew to include not only local residents, but also patrons from all over the country.

First of all this place has serious OSHA violations. They took good back into establishment after custom took good home and brought it back. Didn’t get what I ordered, long wait for correct order, attitude of server was not pleasant, asked to pay higher price after I was inconvenienced by the employee that took order and gave wrong food, this place suffered because they don’t have original Blakely chicken recipe, everyone knows it and service has gone down because of it. Struggling, I don’t see them in business much longer without changes. Another fried chicken place could shut them down and OSHA should fine them and shut them down anyway for violations

The best fried chicken I have eaten in decades. It reminded me of my Mom’s fried chicken which was always delicious. Many locals came in while we were there and that is always a good sign.

We have a taste for some fried chicken on our way home from camping in Eufaula. I had a 3 piece mixed and wife have chicken tenders and a small order of corn fritters, both with fries. It was served piping hot and fresh. The chicken was crisp and juicy. The coating stuck to the pieces instead of just all pulling off on the first bite. If we weren’t so full I would have gotten another bag of corn fritters….maybe next time. We sat out front street side under the covered door area at one of two picnic benches.

This is an excellent spot to get homemade style chicken. The fried chicken is awesome! They have a drive-thru or you may munch out outside at the benches. I will be back soon.

I don’t think atmosphere is really relevant here since it is a fast-food chicken spot and the seating is just two picnic tables, but that is not what is important. What is important is the dang chicken, okay? It’s really good. I was told to stop here when passing through for work. I grew up on Southern food. The sides were okay, but who cares because the chicken is where it’s at. It was crispy, hot, juice, and well-seasoned. The tea was also brewed perfectly. I saw one review on here saying they wouldn’t even feed this to their dogs. Sir, this is not a fancy restaurant, it’s not that deep. They were also ordering the baked chicken do with that information what you will. I would 1000% eat here again.

Went there on Sunday while on camping trip , the food was exceptional, chicken put KFC to shame it truly was finger licking good!

I recently revisited Mr. Chick, a place that holds fond memories from my childhood. It had always been a go-to spot for delicious, comforting food, so I was excited to bring my kids along to share the experience. However, I was left thoroughly disappointed. It’s been a few years since I last visited, and unfortunately, the quality of the food no longer met my expectations. What made the experience even worse, though, was the lack of customer service. The staff seemed indifferent, with no greeting or interaction, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Given my experience, I won’t be returning. It’s a shame to see a place that once meant so much fall so far short.
