This is a golden gem in Midtown and the best for American staples like wings, tenders, burgers, and oh my, that winter special tomato soup with grilled cheese is like nothing I’ve ever had. The best ever They make a lot of sauces in house and the hot wing sauce and ranch are to die for. The Shop also has alternative drinks choices (non-alcoholic) to help chill the mood. The owners, Tony and Ben, are so supportive of the Midtown area and value their customers. I will continue to support local at The Shop Midtown.

The Shop Midtown is a great little bar in East Sacramento on J Street with a relaxed lounge vibe and plenty of TVs. They have a full bar and a solid menu with lots of food options, making it easy to grab dinner or drinks with friends. We stopped in before walking through the Fab Forties to see the lights, and the location made it super convenient because it’s pretty close by car. This is a great spot for after work drinks, meeting friends, or an easy dinner close to everything.

My friends and I came here post concert looking for a some good grub, but opened past 10pm. The Shop Midtown exceeded our expectations! The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was such a vibe. We did love the fact that they offered board/card games. Noteable mention was a giant chess board located on the bar at the time. Very neat! I can most definitely see myself coming back here if I’m in the area and want a good hearty meal. The prices weren’t bad (about $20 a person for each entree) and the quality was good.

We stopped by The Shop Midtown on a Tuesday afternoon around 2:30 PM for a late lunch, and it was a great experience. The staff and owner were super friendly and welcoming, which really elevated the vibe. Even though they don’t have their liquor license yet, their Soju selection was impressive and they had a solid lineup of beers to choose from.
We started with the loaded fries — crispy and flavorful, definitely a good way to kick things off. For our main, we ordered the Hot Rod Smashburger, which came with fries. The burger was solid and came out fast. Bonus: Tuesdays come with a buy-one-get-one-50%-off deal, which made the whole meal feel like a steal.
It’s not the most mind-blowing food I’ve had, but for a casual, neighborhood-style spot with good energy and solid service, I think The Shop has a lot of potential. I’d definitely come back and look forward to seeing how they grow.

Dope place for late night foot – which is a rarity and severely missing in Sacramento.
The owner / staff – Al, Tony, and Rae were incredible. Both my partner and I have over 15+ years working in hostility / private events and it’s very apparent the owners and staff care about their guests and we received probably one of our best dining experiences Sacramento at The Shop.
The food was on point and delicious – flavorful and fresh. Ray went above and beyond to make sure that we enjoyed her cocktails – which were perfectly balance and not overly sweet. Wishing and hoping for all the success of this new restaurant / bar because they truly deserve it! Great people. Highly recommend!

Our waitress, Melissa, was super attentive and friendly, and the service overall was excellent. The only little hiccup was that I was accidentally given the wrong Smashburger, but I honestly didn’t even notice until another waitress kindly pointed it out. The manager, Ethan, came over right away, was incredibly kind and apologetic, and handled it so well—he took the burger off our bill and still brought out the correct one, even though I’d already almost finished the first!
The food was delicious, the vibe was spot-on, and the staff went above and beyond to make things right. Highly recommend this spot—we’ll definitely be coming back!

Al was an amazing host, we were greeted, even though they were busy. My wife & I got the burgers and we haven’t had such amazing burgers in Sacramento until today. Perfect meat to bun ratio. The beef patty was cooked to perfection.
We finished off with the cookie and ice cream desert. The cookie was so moist and warm inside, it was the perfect way to end the dinner off.
