Over all we enjoyed it!
Burger come with a side which is nice! We ordered 2 mushrooms burgers. One with tots and one with corn in a cup.
The burgers are pretty big! The tots were good and crispy too!
The only thing was the corn I. The cup was not good. The corn was kind of cold. Way too much parm and not enough corn. Just tasted like a big mush. Disappointing.
We also ordered a funnel cake. It’s different than the carnival ones.
This tasted more like a big plate of churros! It’s awesome we get to put 3 toppings! They are not skimpy on the serving either! Don’t expect it to be light and fluffy though! Overall it was great.
The place was pretty clean. It’s a small cozy place and look forward to coming back. Hoping the corn in the cup gets better 🙂
We haven’t tried the hot dogs, and we didn’t like the chili (which tasted like eating straight chili powder), but we’ll certainly be back again. Our only criticisms are relatively minor in that it took almost 15 minutes to get our burgers (as the second in line to order), and everything seemed to have mayonnaise, of which we’re not fans.
8/30/24: Idk what happened. But, i paid $30 for just cheese and meat? The fries were just half a cup. Everything was very salty. I should have checked my order before leaving. Very unfortunate.
When my mom called in about it, they told her that WE ordered the food incorrectly. So, when I called in, I began to question how we could order food incorrectly when we’re not the ones cooking it. The guy who answered the phone hung up on me and kept the line busy for several minutes.
When I was finally able to get a hold of someone again, I asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to Andrew, and I complained about the experience before asking for a refund of the meal that was incorrect, as it’s impossible for us to order 2 meals “correctly” and 1 meal “incorrectly” when the cooks get all of the same information. Andrew agreed, and promised us a refund… but it never came.
It’s a shame, too, because the food is okay. It’s not worth all of the trouble and poor treatment, though, so definitely go order from somewhere else.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Shack on Loop 410 and Military West, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! The food was absolutely awesome, especially the burgers – they were not only huge but also incredibly tasty.
What truly made my visit memorable was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were exceptionally attentive and super friendly throughout my time there. Their warm and welcoming attitude created a delightful atmosphere, making me feel right at home.
I would highly recommend The Shack to anyone looking for a great meal with amazing burgers and outstanding service. This place definitely gets a well-deserved thumbs up from me!
Wish the burger was a lil rarer for my liking,
But the toasted bun was really good, veggies fresh and meat seasoned really well
Fried were good and so were the onion rings. The funnel cake is Also good but it is different from carnival one’s
