The concept is excellent but the execution leaves you wanting more.
I love the business model: fishmonger by day, seafood bar and restaurant by night.
The menu is inspiring and creative and the seafood really is exceptional.
Perhaps our server was having an “off” night because he forgot our drinks and our bread right from the start. He was very kind and apologetic but when our check came and he overcharged us by £85, I was upset. Luckily, my partner checked the receipt and realized the mistake before we left.
Pricey, even without the additional £85.
Small portions.
Automatic 15% gratuity which was not worth the mistakes, yet I felt odd to reduce the percentage.
It’s an experience but not sure it was worth it.
The fresh cold dishes were better than the one cooked one we tried – very fresh and delicately flavoured. 4* for these urchin and scallop. The tiger prawn curry rice however was underwhelming, almost bad. Overly sauced, acidic tomato flavour overpowered this dish, tasted like a canteen curry. A waste of the fresh prawns which you could hardly taste 1* All the dishes are small plates, so it was lucky we were not hungry.
I’d come again to give it another go, but for that price, hope the rest of the hot food is not like the tiger prawn curry.
The place is tiny contemporary touches (marble-top counter, ash-wood flooring). Service was excellent, the staff being friendly and patient.
It would be nice to sit in a chair rather than perching on a stool.
We started with a selection of beautiful oysters from Essex, Ireland and France, followed by a standout lineup: dry-aged kingfish with sesame milk and turnip — clean, creamy, balanced. Then a gorgeous dry-aged sea bream with verjus and tarragon, every element dialled in.
But the sleeper hit? The seabass with maitake mushrooms and red rice vinegar — deceptively simple, perfectly cooked, and utterly satisfying.
Service was spot on — warm, intuitive, and with sharp wine recommendations, including a surprising and elegant bottle from the Czech Republic that paired brilliantly.
A place for people who appreciate technique without pretence and ingredients of the highest quality, treated well. Will be back.
Very nice ingredients and presentation of the dishes. From starters to desserts, everything is well presented and delicious. Staff was nice as well
Love the combinations, the freshness and the flavors. Definitely a great place to just go and grab lunch or dinner, as prices are decent. I absolutely loved it!
Favorite dish was a special they’ve had made with Sicilian prawns !
