This place is one of the best spots in Richmond. The people who work there are so good at what they do and the food is amazing every time. You have to check it out. These two dishes are the pot pie (good lord that’s good) and the pork belly burnt ends over grits (wow). Trust me. You won’t regret it.

We used The Savory Grain catering for our grand opening. Jami and Doug were incredible to work with. They had creative ideas to bring our party to life and delivered the most beautiful spread of food and drinks! So fresh and absolutely delicious!

We went for 6 pm dinner for birthday celebration…table of 15. Our service was absolutely horrible we did not get our food until 745-750. Not once did anyone come to check on us. We had to ask!! When the food came, it was so wrong for over 1/2 the party. I’m a very open minded person with trying new and different foods and drinks, but I was so disappointed with both. I actually ordered 2 different drinks and sent both back and settled for a coke. What stood out to me and made me say I have to write a review was when a member of our party complained to the manager about her food, he said “but did you eat?” I try to support all local RVA restaurants but I will not give this establishment my money again.

Beautiful ambiance, excellent hearty food, personable waitress. The crab dip pictured is the best I’ve ever had. Couldn’t stop eyeing my fiancé’s shrimp and grits and he switched with me because he was eyeing my burger! I love the simple menu. It’s a great place, especially for residents of The Fan on their evening stroll. Don’t forget to try the crab dip, seriously.

Excellent experience here. Service was top notch on a busy day as well. The food was exceptionally good, as well as our strawberry mimosas. We really enjoyed the music too. Out of towners but we will be back!

We stopped here for dinner on a Friday as we are traveling from NJ to FL. The service was great. I called ahead and had a pleasant exchange with the man who answered the phone. Our waitress was so sweet. And the food OMG the food was amazing! We shared the She-Crab soup, the beet and goat cheese salad and the blackened salmon with coconut rice and spinach. My bf got the brown ale and for dessert the mixed berry crumble and both were amazing. The decor and ambiance was perfect. My only complaint (especially as someone who is always cold) was that it was HOT inside the entire time. Other patrons were making similar comments. Not sure if it is always like that or maybe something was up with the ac but we would have stayed longer and spent more money had it been a bit more comfortable. All in all it was a GREAT experience and we will try to stop back in on our travels home next week.

Can’t say enough nice things about this place at a rather improbable spot on Broad across from Whole Foods. Nice, comfy interior. Our server was just lovely, and the food and beer were outstanding, and super reasonably priced! My husband had the strip steak, which was divine – I could not resist a bite. The blue cheese dressing is house made, and has a lot of actual blue cheese in it! The cornbread should be sold at Whole Foods across the street – it is that good. The atmosphere was so nice -calming, music was low and unobtrusive – you could actually hear your dinner companions without raising your voice.

The restaurant was very busy so the service was slow but the Wait staff was attentive. There were no pasta or cheese dishes or no children menu so the youngest member of our party could not find anything to eat. The music was entertaining but loud for the space.

We sat at the bar and the tenders were outstanding. Wine was fabulous as were both entrees. I had Shrimp & Grits and my date had the chicken which was accompanied by a rice that tasted like Thanksgiving in a bowl! It was delicious. The collards were a little too heavy on the vinegar for our taste, but we really enjoyed our meal. For certain, we will be back!

Visited them from brunch and gotta say it was one of the best restaurants for just that! Their chicken and waffles are among the best I’ve had in Richmond. They also had live jazz music which added to the whole experience. Definitely want to come back again!
