My son was in charge of finding us dinner our first night in the Dells. He gave me the name of The Sand Trap and said it looked like it was in the middle of nowhere…. and it was lol!
However, sometimes the best places are found off the beaten path!
Barely anyone in there, but it was a Wednesday night, in February, in the Dells… IYKYK. Service was awesome, server/bartender was super personable and attentive! Food was delicious! We had the cheese curds… AMAZING… the chicken tenders basket and the BBQ Pork Cheddar Sandwich… Fantastic! We will definitely be back and recommend The Sand Trap Bar & Grill!

We just left this bar/restaurant on Friday February 20th and I’m smitten!! I was hesitant at first since when we got there, there were only 4 others in residence, but behold the most welcoming and fun bar!! My hubs and I took our kiddo out to celebrate her 9 years around the sun while staying at Christmas Mountain Village, and it DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT! Appetizers came out BEFORE our entree….stellar. Food hot and ready…. beautiful. A game of soft tip darts…fun! Some claw machines…. amazing. Staff playing Happy Birthday and her favorite Taylor Swift song…..STELLAR!!!! 10 OUT OF 10 for the vibes!!! Chefs kiss on the ambience. ❤️❤️ Thank you for a great time!!

If staying at Christmas mountain, good close place to visit, that serves food and drinks. The only feedback I would like to provide to the owners is you need to improve the atmosphere by getting different lighting. It way too bright – we felt like we were at a cafe not a warm bar. Lights were bright like you would see turned on at bartime not at 6:30pm in the evening.

When we ordered again their chicken wings, the staff told us for each order of wings comes with 7-8 pcs, but when got our order, it has 5 pcs only. And when I asked the staff said “they go by weight.” but comparing from our order before, we got 7pcs for each order. Inconsistency on their sevice will not give good customer satisfaction.

We are staying at Christmas Mountain and decided to try this place because it is close. We talked to quite a few locals, and they told us fish fries on Fridays are the Wisconsin thing to do. The Sand Trap did not disappoint. The fish was juicy and flaky, the breading was perfect, and the baked potato was hot and delicious. Our server was great, friendly, and efficient. They do not have draft beer but a good selection of domestic cans. The inside is your typical sports bar atmosphere. A very good meal for a very good price.

Ordered take out and the food was serviceable but there were a lot of errors/weird things. Ordered 3 orders of wings and only one order came sauced. The salad that was ordered came without dressing and without avocado (which was a paid addition). The kids mac and cheese was genuinely not good. It’s was maybe just off brand Kraft which could have been fine but it was basically plain noodles. Ok for a kid but it wasn’t mac and cheese.The coleslaw we paid 3 dollars for was about 3 tablespoons large. we ate, we were filled, but we were also disappointed.
