Very underrated bar. Our bartender Tiana(?) was SUPER sweet and did a great job with our drinks. I almost never have margaritas but the Lava Lamp was excellent. It’s RIGHT next to the beach too so you can enjoy a view of the ocean with your food and beverage(s).

The Rusty Reel is located on Ocean Blvd right next to Breakers Hotel on the beach side. This bar offers a lazy river, swimming pool, juke box, and a great view of the beach.
We visited Andy at the downstairs bar for drinks and lunch. Andy was super personable and offered us the drink of the day special (Passion fruit rum, oj, pj, n cj for $5. )
For lunch, we got a shrimp/oyster po-boy and chicken Caesar wrap. Both came out delicious!

We ordered the chicken tenders/substitute fries and the tenders were sad looking cruncy odds and ends, not tenders the fries were few and probably out of a Walmart bag of frozen. We ate them outside looking at the beach which was a spectacular view.My grandson wanted to give everything a 5 star, I’m much more discerning. The service was quick and although we sat down at a table he brought it out to go.

Don’t know who the lady in grey leggings sitting at the bar all day was, however went to get a tray of fries that’s it didn’t leave a tip and she felt the need to say something to me, “do you know how much bartenders make” “you can leave a tip” don’t know if she knows the bartender or what but made the Atmosphere very touchy and uncomfortable, I’ve worked $2.50 jobs before it was the end of his night I have my own reasons for not leaving a tip simply because I do not have too however it wasn’t this woman’s place to cast judgment on me or read my receipt. Bad for business. We weren’t sitting down and eating we were just getting fries. Anyway wasn’t a good look at all never had that happen before really crazy. That lady doesn’t know me nor my fiancé who’s used our last dollars to tip people. So yeah if you see her make sure to flip your receipt over.

Well I am not able to leave a review for the food or atmosphere. But as far service I can say today I had a horrible experience. Waited at the door about 2 mins before open. Was passed by tons of employees and a manager. 11 is when they are supposed to unlock the doors. I waited till 11:13 before I left and before I did the manager stopped to tell me they don’t serve food till noon which is fine and I told her I am just waiting to get a drink. 3 more mins pass by after that encounter before I left! They acted like they did not want me.

Great drinks but can get drinks anywhere stop in here and grab some wings and fries you will not disappointed some of the best wings in my life “jumbo” wings in my hometown means disgusting not here. We spent almost 120.00 on 3 kids meals and 3 sandwich combos. The chicken breast sandwich was cold and the bun was so hard you could beat it on the table. The kids chicken tenders tasted horrible. I think chicken nuggets from a fast food restaurant would have tasted better. The bartender was very nice and attentive but what a waste of money.

Staying at the breakers for a friends birthday, and we stopped by The Rusty Reel for a quick drink, Tim is by far the coolest bartender ever! Give that man a raise! 10 out of 10 would recommend as long as Tim is working.

Being next to the ocean is by far the best feature of this place. Their drinks aren’t bad and the burger itself was really good. The problem is the staff. We ordered two mixed drinks along with an appetizer. Before the drinks even arrived we were asked of we wanted to order. We realized about half way through our drinks, our waitress (who didn’t write anything down), had forgot about those. No big deal, the drinks were good enough. When I got my Reel Burger (suppose to have mushrooms and jalapeno and I asked for no jalapeno) it only had lettuce, tomato, and onion. But since it took forever to get anything I just ate it. $40 later, I’m not impressed and would have gladly went somewhere else. The burger tasted really good but the service just lacked. If you just want to drink before going out, this place would be perfect but it’s not a place to enjoy a meal.
