December 2025:
Used to come to this spot often when Chow was here. But that was a long time ago. Came here on a rainy Sunday evening for dinner.

We started with the mushroom pizza to share. People liked it. I thought the truffle oil was not right for me. Would not order that again. For main, I ordered the vegetable tanguine. Portion was large. The dish could have used some more salt and pepper. It was a little bland.

Service was good.

Came here after finding this place on Resy. It’s actually quite good, though a little on the expensive side.

We got calamari, grilled seabass (branzino), the steak and tiramisu. All were pretty good.

For the ravioli and pesto, the pasta was hard and undercooked… in addition to the small portion (this is half of a portion), it wasn’t worth it for the price :/

The truffle steak tartar was not what we expected, but it was good. Not my favorite thing (and a bit over priced for a cracker spread).

Overall, this place is overpriced for the quality of food. The decor inside is cute though!

We were little confused to try food from this restaurant or not. But we didn’t have much time to decide so we went. We ordered wildmushroom pizza which is decent and I don’t remember the name it comes with toasted bread and sweet yogurt on top with pomogranate and persimmon slices. Which tastes kinda desert to me.

We recently hosted our baby’s first birthday at Tavola Rustica, and it was absolutely perfect. From start to finish, Zoti (the owner) went above and beyond to make everything seamless, stress-free, and truly special.

The food was incredible—people were raving about the salad, pasta, and the mushroom pizza. We also had a wine tasting prior to the event, and Zoti’s wine selection is top-tier. He really knows his stuff, and every bottle he helped recommend for the event was a hit. Let me repeat, people LOVED the wine.

We rented out the entire restaurant, and Zoti offered a very reasonable price for the space and food for our 50 person party. He was so accommodating with all our requests— 7 high chairs, custom prefixe menus, guests arriving late or needing to leave early, and even making note of every allergy or dietary restriction. He even packed up a nice to go box for my friends who had to leave early for their baby’s nap.

We brought in decorations and set up a little play area in the back for the kids, which worked out perfectly. When the little ones got fussy, we could bring them to the back to play and then head back for more delicious food and wine.

Everything about the experience—from the food, service, and wine to the space itself—was beautiful. Zoti made my vision come to life, and I can’t recommend Tavola Rustica enough. If you’re looking for a space to host your private event, reach out to Zoti. You will not be disappointed!

We had such a wonderful time at The Rustic Restaurant in San Francisco! From start to finish, the experience was truly memorable, and the food was incredibly satisfying.
We started with the fried calamari, and I have to emphasize, they were perfectly fried—light, crispy, and absolutely not greasy. It was a flawless appetizer, complemented beautifully by the fresh and delicate octopus carpaccio.
For the main course, the Tonnarelli Frutti Di Mare was an absolute standout. It was incredibly flavorful and brimming with fresh seafood; a must-try for pasta lovers. We also shared the Italian sausage pizza, which was excellent—a delicious classic done perfectly.
Beyond the food, the service was genuinely lovely. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome throughout the evening. The Rustic is a top-tier spot in SF, and we highly recommend it!

The Rustic has a good atmosphere with aesthetic decor. All of the food was reasonably priced and they are able to spilt the pasta for two people. I recommend trying the daily special and the hazelnut ice cream.

It was a good vibe and nice staff. I wish the food was better. The pasta flavor was there but the pasta itself was more than al-dente; some bites were crunchy. Pizza crust wasn’t my thing; kinda soggy.

From the moment we walked in everyone was so kind and attentive. We had the beet salad: light but delicious and fresh,
Pappernelle Pasta with Oxtail was simply pneominail (melted.in my mouth), sausage pizza (very flavorful)
Worth the visit and loved chit chatting with Chantel!!

Fabulous atmosphere. Johnny is a very attentive server. Will definitely return to try the hand made pasta and pizza from the wood fired oven (from Italy). If you’re in the area, give them a try. Edit: I’ve tried the clams and linguini and the tiramisu, both are delicious and the service was great. I’ve also tried the beef ragu and it’s a miss for me guys, the meat isn’t seasoned and the choice of noodles is off too, won’t order again.
