Honestly, it’s a little crazy that I haven’t reviewed this place until now because this restaurant has been my favorite breakfast/brunch place for the past two years now. The atmosphere is great, the staff are fast and friendly, and they have one of my favorite meals to get when I go out (the brunch bowl with potatoes, eggs, lettuce, vinegrette, feta, and fresh bacon). My go to drink is a latte with honey and maple but all of the seasonal specials I’ve gotten (like a baklava latte and a hibiscus rooibos tea with mango lemonade) have been amazing. The biscuit with fresh jam is also way better than it has any right to be and the scones I’ve tried (pear cinnamon and cranberry rosemary) were stellar.

All in all, I make sure to stop by this place every time I go to the farmer’s market or am otherwise in the area and it’s where I take people who are visiting from out of town: it ALWAYS impresses them, and it’s not anymore expensive than going to a Starbucks. I love that the tip is preincluded so it’s easy and fair for the staff.

I love it! Short drop-by in Salt Lake City, so happy that I made good decisions for the only brunch here. Good coffee, and both dishes were awesome. The sourdough is made perfectly, chili sauce works great with Greek yoghurt. And the side salad that came along with the breakfast sandwich was interesting, the dressing sauce was light but flavourful!

Came here first thing in the morning before our flight and was impressed. The baristas are super friendly and helpful, pick any drink and you can’t go wrong, and the food is filling without being heavy. Love the atmosphere and how welcoming it is. Wasn’t too busy first thing in the morning on a random Thursday, everything came out fairly quick.
If you care about workers rights, they add an 18% gratuity to each order. The prices are very reasonable and I like knowing that the people making my food and serving it are being paid a living wage. Big bonus points.
Will happily be back the next time I’m in town. I got the brunch bowl, chai and the rose fog. If you like your chai spicy, this one is the ticket. The rose fog was amazing and creamy! Thanks for the great experience on our way out of town!

Great little spot, and worth knowing that there’s basically no parking, so we parked at Liberty Park and walked over.

You order and pay at the counter, then sit down. We were told there was a 30 minute wait for food right as we were about to pay, which would’ve been nice to know earlier.

Food was good overall. The shakshouka and sourdough dish was the highlight. The gluten free breakfast sandwich had an up charge but the size of the bread felt pretty ungenerous, more like a half sandwich, and they were out of the sweet heat bacon which was a shame.

Pretty noisy inside, but I’d come back to try other menu items.

I got a oat milk cappuccino & sourdough with jam, my friend got a latte & a breakfast sandwich. She loved her sandwich- said it was amazing. However both of us thought the espresso was burnt. She didn’t even finish her latte. The toast & jam were nice, I could tell the jam was homemade. Also there’s no WiFi which is frustrating. I like the vibe, the cups, the music, the seating, the bathroom. I’d come back to try the vegan food options, but I wouldn’t come back for coffee. Maybe I’ll try the tea next time.

Such a fun and unique menu. It’s exciting being a New Yorker getting breakfast out of state because it seems everywhere else allows themselves to be so much more adventurous with breakfast than we do. The service was great, the vibes were immaculate, my drink was uniquely delicious, the food was yummy, and the bathroom was clean. Couldn’t ask for much more.

The food here was outstanding. As was the drinks were ordered. It was probably our fault for coming on a weekend but it was so busy there was a line out the door to order as it is counter service. That means it’ll be great, right? That is what we said and why we decided to stay. By the tome we got up to order (waiting on line for about 30 mins) We were told that it would be 30-40 minutes for food to be delivered because the kitchen was so far behind. Okay, not the end of the world. We cam here to enjoy each other’s company and explore a new town. There were servers running food and alcoholic beverages but we had to wait and listen for our names to be called for coffees… let me remind you that this place was super busy and you couldn’t hear a thing… so thay lead to either your drinks sitting at the counter forever or a bunch of people standing and blocking the way to where the Barista was setting out the drinks.

I got the Turkish eggs with a side of bacon (thay they forgot to bring out) and my husband got the breakfast plate. As mentioned turned both meals and drinks were delicious! But there could definitely be some improvements on atmosphere (like sound absorbtion), methods for drink delivery, and staffing.

We will most likely come back here when we are in town next, just not during the weekend.

I’m writing this review with the intention of being constructive, as I genuinely like this place and hope it continues to improve.

I’ve been a regular customer at Rose Café for quite some time, which is why I feel comfortable sharing this feedback. Unfortunately, during my most recent visit, the dinner plate portions were very small and quite scarce. Additionally, the food was extremely overcooked, to the point of being burnt.

I did mention this to the staff at the time, but I was told that nothing could be done because they were following the owner’s instructions regarding how the food should be prepared.

I truly hope that both the food quality and the service improve moving forward. My intention is not to criticize, but to offer feedback in the hope that it will be taken positively, as I’ve always enjoyed Rose Café and would love to continue being a loyal customer.

We loved the atmosphere in this old meat packing building. Bakery items were all delicious, with a surprising and tempting array of GF and vegan baked goods. Brunch entrees balance trendy treats with classic staples. Servers were kind and prompt and the whole place sends a warm and inclusive vibe. Will return each time we visit SLC.

10/10 stars for The Rose Establishment and staff. We stayed in SLC for 2 nights and came for breakfast both days – it was that good. The 9-5 breakfast sandwich and the Turkish eggs were exceptional. I ordered the Jack-O-Latte and it was not too sweet, lovely cinnamon flavor. The staff is super sweet! Really fun interior and patio. Highly recommend for a good coffee/breakfast/ brunch!
