Pros: The food is quality, made in a good time and the scones had a good consistency. They were soft but had a nice crunch too. The bread with the sandwich was . For $20 I got two scones the sandwich that will transition you to lunch and a fruit cup. Stop playing around and stop by! The decor is intentional old fashion I believe, I’m not a decor guy, so it doesn’t matter to me. It has a nice feeling to it. The staff was nice.
Cons: It’s next to a busy street and parking I believe is across the street, but it’s not NY. So, find a way inside!
Located on Westwood’s busy Broadway, we decided to have breakfast at this cozy establishment as a repeat performance. Reservation was easily made via Yelp for 10am.
Upon arrival inside the main building of the Rolling Pin Cafe, my partner and I were greeted by the friendly staff and got a table right in front of the picturesque window. The cozy interior has characters featuring retro decorations filled with rolling pins from ages past as well as other kitchen accessories along with 6 tables.
Their straightforward menu may be limited with classic comfort foods for breakfast and lunch with specials rotating weekly.
We decided on the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Fresh Fruit and Florentine (spinach and feta) Skillet Scrambled accompanied by Roasted Potatoes with added side of Turkey Bacon.
Their sweet potato salad that we crave is one of the more unique side dishes one will find, which is so delicious and mouthwatering and adds to any meal we decide to take some home.
Everything’s made on-site, so it’s remained fresh and has that genuine homemade taste with wonderful flavors, which is hard to find these days. Portions were generous and the price was reasonable.
I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Jeff, who was friendly and clearly working very hard, and he thanked us for helping make it possible. His staff were equally friendly and attentive, especially our server, who we didn’t get his name and Gina.
What a great place to sit and relax with friends or family and catch up, which we continue to recommend.
