This place was the bomb! We had great food really good service. They were out of horseradish and they actually went to the store to get some. I couldn’t believe it. Beautiful location right across from the river, where we watched boulders , it seems like, float by in the river! The beans were really good, the fries were really good, I got a Southwest wrap that was amazing, and I believe my husband got a big old loaded burger with goodies. Just wanted to let you know this was an excellent excellent lunch!

Excellent food and excellent service! We were visiting Atchison and decided to stop here for dinner and we were not disappointed. The chicken wings were exceptional and we had a lot of fun speaking with the owner and his family at the outside bar. They were great people and we were very happy to get to meet them and enjoy their delicious food. The portions are large and everything was cooked fresh and was delicious. Would definitely return.

a wonderful place to eat with great food. The ambulance is very nice with the ability to overlook the river. My wife and I visited Atchison for some shopping on a Friday. We went to the Smoke House to have lunch, and the food was great. Her chicken tenders were excellently fried and crispy, the onion rings tasted fantastic. I got the spicy cheese burger with jalapenos strips and three alarm cheese. I like spicy food and it was great. The best part was sitting out on the patio overlooking the Missouri River. If in Atchison I recommend stopping in and having some food, or maybe even a beer.

Great burgers, nice view. Just happened upon this small establishment in my way through town. The cheeseburger I ordered had excellent flavor, a good size and I also enjoyed the fries. I also liked watching the river flow by while I ate. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent food and a nice atmosphere. My wife and I were in Atchison for the day so we want to the River Shack for lunch. She had the chicken tenders and fries, I had the burger with super spicy cheese and jalapeno strips. We both Loved our food. The view overlooking the river is also quite nice and ads to the charm of the place. If in Atchison, stop in fro a meal and a beer!

Ate there the first day the new owners opened. Wasn’t a big fan as it was pricey for what we got. We ordered pulled pork sandwiches however the pulled pork was dry. I usually don’t like sauce on bbq but I had to do something just to moisten the meat. We also ordered wings…. wings are smoked then deep fried. Frying the wings over powered the smoke flavor or small I say lack of smoke. The wings were also very bland.
