This restaurant has a very nice overall concept and atmosphere, but unfortunately the food did not live up to the expectations. The place itself looks beautiful and well designed. The outdoor seating area with palm trees gives a relaxed tropical vibe, and the overall ambiance is pleasant for a dinner outing. It feels like a place where you could enjoy a nice evening with friends or family, especially if you like sitting outside in a lively environment.

The seating options are good, with indoor dining, booth seating, a bar area, and an outdoor patio. The outdoor area in particular looks attractive at night with lighting around the palm trees. The noise level is on the louder side, but you can still have a conversation at your table.

However, the biggest disappointment was the food. While the menu items looked appealing when they arrived, the flavors and quality did not match the presentation. We tried several dishes including the French dip with fries, sliced steak with baked potato, tuna tartare with crispy wontons, fried chicken with fries, and fried shrimp with shredded cabbage.

The French dip sandwich was average and lacked the depth of flavor you normally expect from this dish. The fries were fine but nothing special.

The sliced steak with baked potato looked promising, but the steak itself was not particularly tender or flavorful. The baked potato was decent but felt like a basic side rather than something memorable.

The tuna tartare with crispy wontons had a nice presentation, but again the taste did not stand out. It looked good on the plate, but the flavors felt flat.

The fried chicken with fries and fried shrimp were also quite average. The fried items were crispy, but overall they did not have the seasoning or flavor that would make them memorable.

Service was also not very impressive. It was not terrible, but it felt slow and inattentive at times. Considering the price point, better service would have improved the experience.

Parking can also be a bit difficult in this area, and valet may be required depending on the time you visit.

Overall, the ambiance and location are definitely the strong points of this restaurant, but the food quality and service did not match the setting or the price. It might still be a decent place to go for drinks or to enjoy the outdoor atmosphere, but based on this experience, it would be hard to recommend it primarily for the food.

It took us a while to finally try this restaurant, and overall we had a good experience, though there were a few areas that could use improvement. The valet situation on arrival was confusing. The line was long, no one explained whether tickets were given, and several guests were just leaving their cars without guidance. We waited until we reached the front to be sure, but never received a ticket. At the end, the valet asked for one, we said we hadn’t gotten it, and thankfully he was still able to locate our car.

The ambiance and outdoor patio were beautiful and made for a perfect waterfront anniversary dinner. The hostesses and wait staff surprised us with an anniversary card, which was such a thoughtful touch. We debated between splitting a bottle of wine or trying the prickly pear margaritas and chose the margarita, but it was overwhelmingly sweet and tasted more like fruit punch than a cocktail. We then ordered two glasses of red wine with dinner, but they arrived about ten minutes late, after we had already eaten most of the meal, and they were served ice cold. I don’t mind slightly chilled red, but this tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for days, which was disappointing.

The food was great though! The crazy tuna roll, crab cakes, and ribeye were all delicious, and the ribeye was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was kind but didn’t really guide us through the menu beyond saying everything was great. A bit more detail would’ve helped, especially since I wouldn’t have ordered the margarita had I known how sweet it was.

Overall, we would definitely come back. The outdoor bar is stunning, and the patio seating is perfect for a romantic, relaxing evening. The details and the service could use some attention.

Wonderful brunch experience! My favorite item was the deviled eggs and bacon! The bacon is the best ever! Eddie was an exceptional waiter and was attentive, knowledgable, and courteous. I will definitely return!

Our lunch service today was awful. The waitress was not attentive. We continuously had to seek her for something. I ordered a Greek salad with chicken. The salad was measly when it arrived and drenched in dressing (extremely salty). I had to send it back and ask for no dressing. By the time my food came, I needed to take it to go. I just got home to finally eat my lunch and the container is about 1/3 full of salad. I will never pay nearly $30 ever again for lunch at River House. Not worth it one bit!

First time going last night for dinner, will most likely be my last. Service was not great, from the bartenders to the multiple servers we had for our small table (even with a reservation). Food was tasty but our order was incorrect. Atmosphere was nice, on the water. Many other places with good food on the water to go to around here. Valet was rude as well.
Note to staff- don’t be in the hospitality industry if you are not capable of being hospitable. Yikes.

Absolutely Love The river house , love the atmosphere & the food and drinks. I’ve been a total of 3 times, one time I went and one of the guest there decided to sing while sitting at the bar, it was a great experience.

Stopped in at River House and was disappointed. Stuffy crowd being ostentatious, no parking but valet, and worst it was crowded so asked politely if we could pull a third chair up to a barside hightop. Before we could order (given attention it would have been long a young buck (slick but amateur) shouted I am going to have to take that chair. Fine, we left and ran across PGA Blvd to the much better and much nicer waterfront of the Waterway Cafe. Remember, south side of PGA, not north along the waterway and you will be at a hopping joint not a museum to blah.

Lovely spot along the river. Menu and food were exceptional but we had reservations at 7:15 and did not sit down until 45 minutes later… really unexceptable. Terrible hostess mismanagement. They can do much better!

Favorite restaurant in NPB. Please add the Butter Crab role to the brunch menu!

Can’t figure out why service is always super slow so you have to be aggressive to order when you get your shot.
