Amazing place, definitely a hidden gem. We especially loved the hanger steak, the potatoes with cream on top! Both times, food and service was top notch, will be back again <3

We’ve eaten at The Rind twice and both have been incredible experiences. We not only love the food; but also, the experience the entire team provides. It’s our current go to restaurant to take visiting family to. We love the ever changing menu and the adjoining shop is amazing too. The ambiance is boisterous and quaint at the same time. We will be back soon!

A great little spot for lunch, a snack or even just dessert. We enjoyed a ham & butter sandwich, cream of mushroom soup and a nice assortment of olives. Everything we had was fresh and delicious, including my Bloody Mary. Service was fast and friendly!

The Rind is truly one of the best dining experiences in Metro Detroit! So very happy to celebrate my birthday here last night!!. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels both stylish and welcoming — perfect for a special evening or a fun night out with friends.
The menu is creative and absolutely delicious, with every dish prepared to perfection and beautifully presented. The flavors are bold yet balanced, and you can tell that only the highest-quality ingredients are used. The drinks complement the food perfectly, and the staff is attentive, warm, and knowledgeable — always ready with great recommendations.

What really sets The Rind apart is the energy. It’s not just a place to eat; it’s an experience. You leave feeling like you’ve been part of something special

It’s no surprise The Rind has earned awards and so much buzz it deserves every bit of recognition. If you’re looking for an unforgettable meal in Metro Detroit, The Rind is hands down the best choice!

What a pleasant surprise for lunch. Absolutely fantastic waiter (who was the only one taking care of tables) was very attentive and great to speak to. He was very knowledgeable about the menu as well as food in general. We both got the Flaming Fig grilled cheese and a bowl of tomato soup of course. The bread was grilled to perfection and the sandwich was delicious. Nice and spicy but not too spicy. The tomato soup was absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to visit again

Awesome place! Great food for lunch or dinner. Never misses. Great atmosphere and staff. Cheeses, meats, tinned fishes, chocolates are always great! And they do samples of everything including the chocolates!

We didn’t order much food but we went to the attached store and loved the samples. I loved the atmosphere. It was cozy, intimate, and easy to chat with my friend here. My friend just got a cider so I can’t really judge the food from the restaurant side.

Loved our lunch visit here! We found street parking right out front. No wait to be seated. Our server was helpful and friendly. The dining area and cute bathroom were clean. Shopping at the attached market is dangerously fun.

For drinks: I chose the drinking chocolate and my husband got a coffee drink of some sort. My only complaint here is that they were gone too fast! So much goodness packed into the tiny cups.

The food was incredible! We started with charcuterie. Those crackers! So light. Like nothing I’ve had before. The yummy pickles had just a little spice to them. So good. I forget what meat and cheese we chose – but the meat was a smokey beef and I couldn’t get enough.

I had the salmon toastie. I love that they didn’t skimp on the salmon. The toastie was delicious and just what I was craving.

My husband ate the Wagyu pastrami sandwich. I confess I stole several bites. Wow. Both of us agreed it was by far the best pastrami we had ever tasted. Weeks later now, I’m still craving it. Must. Go. Back.

The only drawback was that the florescent lights were on for a good portion of our lunch until someone (a manger maybe?) Walked in and realized they were on. She quickly turned them off so the lighting was dimmed and the ambiance improved significantly.

Now I need to check this place out for dinner!
