The new management at the Rickhouse has got it right!! We ordered the crab dip appetizer, a 6 oz filet with Mac and cheese and seasonal vegetables, and the captains delight which came with fries and hush puppies. Overall the food was SUPER tasty. The crab dip was a little too oily, but really great flavor. The filet was absolutely incredible; Mac and cheese should have been baked (were in the south after all) but not bad. The seafood dish we got was all fried – be warned – but the scallops made it all worth it I’ll say the most disappointing thing about the Rickhouse was that they had ads in their music… If we’re expecting to pay $100 for a night out I don’t wanna be listening to janky Spotify ads. Just my two cents! We will be back though and hopefully they fix their music streaming issue.

Very disappointed after looking forward to a wonderful dinner with my lovely wife.
Being one of the first people to be seated on a Friday night, you would have thought that they would have gotten our food out to us hot and fast. Instead it came out over 30 minutes after we placed our order and was cool to the touch!
The manager was nice enough to get us new and hot items, but you shouldn’t have to complain when you’re eating at a “4-5”star restaurant and there were just a handful of tables filled. They sure are proud of their food as they charge enough, it’s just a shame they couldn’t get it right the first time.
On top of that they no longer serve any bread, but they did bring us bread plates, I guess for us to wonder why?
Then we were charged a dollar more per drink for two drinks!
Guess I can look elsewhere for a fine dining establishment, as the Rick House sure didn’t live up to my expectations of one!

My wife and I decided to try this place for a night out, and we had an excellent time. My wife got the crab cakes and I got a ribeye. Dinner was delicious as well as quite reasonably priced, and the service was great. We also really enjoyed the general ambiance of the restaurant. We didn’t get any drinks this time but the bar area looked incredible as well. We will certainly be repeat customers.

Made a reservation for Valentine’s Day 2 weeks in advance. We arrive 10 mins prior to our reservation and are told the dining room has already been filled and that we must be seated in the banquet room which is back out the front door and around the the side of the building. We are sat at a 6’ long table shared with another couple. Very stale and non-intimate environment for a Valentines Day dinner. After we spoke with the host and expressed we would like to sit in the actual restaurant, we then had to wait for a table to open which was fine. The same guy that greeted us upon arrival and told us we’d have to sit in the banquet room was the same guy that came to walk us back to the restaurant and acted totally confused as to why we were put back there after he’s the one that directed us back there.. very odd. We made it to a table in the actual restaurant 50 mins after our reservation time. I ordered a medium rare ribeye that came out medium well. It was the driest ribeye I’ve ever had. I don’t usually post reviews even when I’m not pleased, but this was very disappointing. My solution is to be transparent with customers when making reservations. If I knew I was reserving a spot in the banquet hall which is completely separate from the actual restaurant, I would have most definitely made reservations some where else. I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever be back.

The ambiance is giving fine dining! The large dishes were great. We went to dinner early so there was no wait..by 6pm it starts to get busy. Plenty of parking..you can sit outside as well. I’m definitely coming back so I can order the Seafood Alfredo!! We got the appetizers with fried ravioli, the fried mozzarella sticks and the fried shrimp..it was the perfect combo.
In my pictures I ordered the shrimp and grits.
My husband ordered the maple bacon chicken dish double baked potato, and mac & cheese.

Everything was wonderful as usual with one exception, the music was too loud and too much! In an upper scale restaurant, such as the Rickhouse, a soft jazz or instrumental music is appreciated and appropriate to set a relaxing ambient atmosphere. Tonight the music that was playing was all 80’s music including Van Halen, Cheap Trick and Queen. Though these bands are great, this was not the atmosphere we enjoy when dining at the Rickhouse. I made a Yelp account just to leave this review. I’ve had quite a few people recommend this place to me, so I was excited to try it. Went on payday—and apparently I need better friends, because this place was horrible.
We ordered the calamari (a pretty safe order, I’d say). It came out gummy, barely fried, with an Asian-style sauce and black olives. Not great, or even good. The main issue was definitely the texture.
For context, I consider myself pretty well-versed in cooking steak and other meats as a hobby. I ordered the $40 porterhouse, and my girlfriend ordered the salmon. The porterhouse was lightly seasoned—like the cow glanced at some salt a couple of times while it was alive. It was grilled on a grate instead of a flat top, which usually doesn’t bother me, but this was extremely overpriced and underwhelming.
The salmon itself was good, but it came with about a 1/4 cup of pecans and overly sweet, sugary sweet potatoes. Way too much going on. Didn’t seem thought out or executed well at all. (Also, the meals came with asparagus… three pieces each.)
I’m typically not picky and I rarely care enough to write reviews like this, but this was a complete robbery of both experience and quality, unfortunately. The service was alright, but the food tasted like something you could get on manager’s special at Walmart and make at home for under twenty bucks.

As with most people that live in Pitt County, we love it when a new restaurant comes however, the history of the Rickhouse and my personal experience has been a sorted tale. I tried it twice over the last several years both times were not good experiences. But I saw an ad on social media and thought well they made some changes. Maybe it’ll be great and sure enough I came in tonight and had an amazing dinner And my friends. We all ordered something different so we could try each other’s and everyone’s meal was equally amazing. I’m not sure what they’ve done different but it is Working, I am so excited to have another dining option
