Inventive Japanese- & Chinese-inspired creations served in a quaint but chic brick-walled setting.

My husband and I visited The Reserve for our Anniversary and had a lovely time. If you haven’t been, it’s a very small, very intimate place with three large booths and two tiny two person booths, and a nice sized very comfortable bar. This is ti say that if you are a party of six or more this probably isn’t going to be the best fit. The food was exceptionally fresh and tasty. My husband and I are both vegan and found enough small plates to make us happy, but if you are a meat eater I think this is where they likely really excel. Overall it was a cozy vibe, left us with a great impression, and we are already looking forward to coming back!

Worth making a reservation as the space is quite small & intimate. Shared small plates and dessert: a chocolate pot au crème and a smoked bourbon crème brûlée. Both excellent. The cocktails can be hit or miss. While the Bitsy 75 was awesome, the orange mezcal Manhattan was just ok. Service was prompt and the space had great character.

Unique hole in the wall, reservations were needed, but I lucked out. Dark setting with a large bar. Music jazzy and 20’s mix. Pleasant staff, one with an Australian accent. I had chicken curry and for dessert, a French dessert I couldn’t remember, except for the taste. Great food, upscale restaurant. $36 bill. Let the photos tell the rest.

This restaurant is a gem. It has the most fabulous atmosphere which is only outdone by the quality and delicious food served. Everything I ate was better than the last. The goat cheese dumplings to the fig and brie to the pork belly to the sami to the creme brulee. OMG. So delicious and I can’t wait to go back. Amazing restaurant! Be sure to have reservations and an empty stomach!

The owner was bar tending and behaved like my party should be grateful to have a chance and pay exorbitant prices for mediocre at best food served with an attitude. I would not recommend this restaurant at all and the purveyor needs to rethink what it means to be in the service industry. I brought an employee for a quiet business dinner, spent nearly $600 and we ended up going somewhere else afterwards for an actual meal and a friendly environment

We visited The Reserve for restaurant week and were blown away. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting and our server was wonderful. The food was all incredibly fresh, creative, and tasty. We will be back for sure.

In town for work and couldn’t be happier with this restaurant! Sat at the bar and the bartender was so nice without being overbearing. Gave great recommendations for food and drinks. Also I have celiacs and had no issues eating here. Easily gave me gluten free options. If you’re reading this, stop in you won’t be disappointed!!

Walked in, as I just moved back to Chagrin Fall after 35 years. I asked the gentleman if I could see a menu and he asked if I had a reservation. I replied no I did not have a reservation.I was walking by and would just like to see a menu, in case I’d like to make a reservation. Again he asked me if I had a reservation,
I again replied that I did not.I just came in to see a menu and apparently that’s not possible. So I left. I now know all I need to know about the restaurant and that’s that I will never need to make a reservation there They will never get a penny from me. If other people find it a privilege to dine with them, then so be it. But not this guy.
I do think it’s fantastic that their business is so good they won’t even share a menu for a future customer to make a decision whether they want to eat at their establishment. Or NOT, in my case.
And I was wearing slacks and a sport coat. So they’re just rude.

Really great small plates. Enough vegetarian options for 2 people.
Would note that if you make a reservation for 2 they don’t necessarily put you at a table but rather at the bar – which we found quite annoying and was not well telegraphed ahead of time. Thankfully we were moved to a table after a short while, but this seemed to be lucky as we had a later reservation.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Husband and I wanted to have an impromptu date night, every restaurant was packed. We wound up intrigued by this new restaurant and decided to give it a try – upon entering the very small space, there went only a few spots open at the bar. Given, we weren’t greeted upon arriving by anyone, but someone comes up to tell us that these bar spots “were possibly reserved and she’d have to check”. Instead of welcoming possible new customers, we got up and left.
