Would honestly give 0 stars. The salad is not what it used to be because it looks ten times cheaper was very disappointed, I waited an hour for a salad, and when I wanted to get it delivered they wouldn’t even pick up the phone. The guy wrote my order down in a big black marker which I found kind of weird, then claimed he didn’t have the ingredients they used to have. Seems like it’s owned by someone new, but this place has gone way down hill. Look at the difference it speaks for itself

Had an amazing time at this wonderful hidden gem! Food came out hot! Staff was friendly and attentive! I could see a lot of people coming here for games and happy hour. I could also see it as a hangout for college kids. This place had everything from delicious food, to drinks to homemade ice cream and fried Oreos. Can’t wait to come back! Thanks Jason for your hospitality!!!!

Didn’t know where to grab a bite for lunch and found this hidden gem and I am so happy I walked in this place! First the cooks were very kind and understood what I wanted, and the wait was no more than 15 mins. It was served HOT and serviced to my car for me! Food is amazing!! The sandwiches are great tasting. I really like the food and definitely hit the spot. It was one of the better lunches I had in quite a while. Ordering is a little challenging, the cashier is at the ice cream side and not at the front deli-ish counter. So don’t expect them to say who’s next or try to catch their attention, you’ll be waiting there like me trying to place an order. Parking is tricky, there is a lot but delivery truck(s) were there, street parking. Atmosphere, I did not feel comfortable. It’s a cop place so I got two hard look from a plain clothes and marine patrol person while waiting. Overall, liked the sandwiches and definitely worth a visit.

Ordered the reef out cheesesteak with no peppers, a da luke with avocado and egg, cheese fries and chowder fries.
The order was right out exactly on time, the servers were quick and friendly. The food was expertly wrapped which made it easy to take home.
When we got home the food itself had huge portions and was brilliant and tasty. Definitely worth future visits.

My daughter and I found this place while looking for another place. The menu looked really good so we both ordered burgers. Her had onion rings and I had a cheeseburger. OMG, the burgers were so big! I had to nibble on it cause I just couldn’t eat it all at once. Very Very tasty and the fries were really good.

Ordered about an hour before closing. Food was ready within about 20 minutes. Ordered fries, pesto sandwich and lemonade. Lemonade was more like water and lemon juice maybe I was supposed to ask for sugar. Fries were ok. Pesto had great flavor, fresh mozzarella, Chicken cutlet cooked well-very delicious. Huge sandwich as well. All together the sandwich was just OK- maybe it was the sesame grinder that made it weird. Will come back another time very soon. Menu has lots of options.

Visited Reef Shack for lunch and was very impressed with everything we had! They’re really well known for their cheesesteaks, so we ordered a half sandwich of the Reefer Cheesesteak, which was super filling. The bread comes fresh from the Bronx daily! We also had the Jersey Shore breakfast sandwich, which comes with Taylor Ham (Pork Roll) fresh from New Jersey. I think it’s awesome how the owners of the Reef Shack go the extra mile to bring in things that are tough to find in CT like Taylor Ham! The wings had plenty of meat on the bone, and the homemade Italian ice sorbets were super refreshing. They have a ton of flavors to choose from, and I’d love to come back in the summer for more. The frozen lemonade is also a good choice! The Reef Shack is super laid back, and I really look forward to coming back in the warmer weather to enjoy their patio area.

AMAZING!!!!! Maybe best cheesesteak in area. Price comparable to others in area. Only fault they didn’t add napkins to take out order. Bun toasted perfectly so much meat and cheese tasted like a gourmet cheeseburger. Onions grilled and caramelized perfect great crunch when you bite into it. Only thing I added was mayo.

Giving the reef 3 solid stars because although good…there is room for improvement here. Came in during off-peak hours. Ordered a regular cheesesteak “the reefer” and waited the an average amount of time for it to be ready. What I got was a nice representation of that famed steak sandwich and there were some things I liked. The overall size was good the seeded roll was a very nice touch and the prime beef tasted fresh and high quality w/ the sandwich as a whole not being overly salty (bonus). My only knocks were the “cheese sauce” which I found to be really thin and lacking richness or depth of flavor that and it steak felt like it was missing something… Maybe butter toasting the rolls or adding peppers n mushrooms(if you’re into those sort of things)..or making sure the prime rib is sliced against the grain would push it over the edge idk. Guess I’ll have to come back n try again.
